"Epic Mickey" aka Terminator meets Disney

If you look at the Gameinformer cover and look at the end of the road where Mickey is heading. You can see Oswald the rabbit. ^^

We were trying to save this nugget for when the magazine hits this coming Monday, but it seems the rumor mill has gotten out of control and it is time to put it in its place. Disney Epic Mickey is indeed a Wii Exclusive. If there is another version in the works out there for another system, we certainly aren't aware of it.

So we can let all the "Game Informer got it wrong" stories sleep. But since we tortured you a bit, we figure we owe you at least one nugget of goodness. If you look closely at the cover on this post, you can see a small figure peeking out - we can confirm that that is indeed Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, and that he plays a major part in the story of Epic Mickey.

Check out the Disney Epic Mickey landing page for updates throughout the month (there is an amazing one tomorrow).

I wonder what Walt Disney would think of something like this.

Game Informer Cover

It sounds like a fantastic idea, a really interesting story and it has some great visuals. I hope it actually turns out well.

The visuals are actually my concern. The style on the cover looks GREAT, but will it translate well on the Wii? I just can't help but imagine what a game like this would look in HD. :(

I'm so excited for this. If it's a Wii exclusive I'm going to be bummed. I don't want a Wii. :csad:

It is a Wii exclusive.

I don't get it. People want good Wii exclusives but when one comes out, everyone is whining about it.

I'm so excited for this, I've gotta be honest. I still feel like the storys a fake. I really hope the graphics are stellar. Resident Evil 4 level stellar.

Wonder when the GameInformer update's gonna be and what it'll be.

Because people want to gripe. They gripe that no good games are released for it, then once good games are released they resort to griping about that.

Meh, their loss.

the wii's visuals aren't that bad, people.

I really wish this game was on xbox360/ps3 the artistic design could have been so much better. :( Ofcourse Wii-controller might make the game much more entertaining but god damn would i love to see something like ce-shaded darkness from this game.

While I'm no doubt still excited as hell for this game and it still looks excellent (and we can definitely see that Mickey is indeed quite retro now), something about the vibrant colors in the images in the scans kinda killed the vibe I was getting from the concept art. I expected something...duller as opposed to bright? A little more weathered, maybe?

I guess I just felt like it was heading for more of a post-apocalyptic wasteland sort of thing judging from the art. Not a complaint, just caught off guard is all. Still very much anticipating this game. I like Spector's comments about how Disney should scare the pants off kids! I must admit, though I don't think I was ever scared, there were times during some movies where I sensed a little bit of darkness or grim in some of the films, whether it was through the visuals or the music.

Also, that 5th page at the link where the scans were had some concept art I hadn't seen before! The Jafar faced monster with Goofy's head on a tentacle was creepy, and the Dumbo wall crawler thing was weird and cool!
