Episode 07 - "Nothing To Hide" - Discussion Thread

BTW, why no one praised Roundtrees' EXCELLENT acting scene yet?

Nathan's wife is insensitive from the waist down. She makes it really clear during the interview (something like, quoting from memory, "being married to a politician, I'm used to being insensitive"). Even if she's indecently hot just by being Rena Sofer, sex with someone paralized right in the Playgrond can't be totally pleasant at all.

Directly from Nathan, it's because he feels guilty for what he did to her and he wanted to hook up with someone who didn't make him make himself feel guilty.

He's an a-hole. Hopefully he turns it around.

Yeah, but I don't believe it was JUST that. It was Ali Larter. Even gay people like me love Ali Larter, especially when she's in Evil Mode.

What makes you think she's not a virgin Marc?

Dunno, most girls I have known lose it before or way before 17. May be different in that part of america as the age of consent is 16 here in England anyway. And if she is still a virgin with her powers then thats gotta suck when that day rolls around.

Oh and with the new blood going back into her stuff... her cycle must be tons of fun. Although, would she even bleed in the first place considering 'everything' heals?

3 Dev Adam - lol, upside for some virgin fetish guy maybe but I doubt she'd want that pain everytime she had sex. Plus if it did 'heal' while the guy was still inside then... yuurghh. Gonna be hard to get a longterm relationship going when you tear the guys skin off everytime he pulls out.

Micah can do better than Ali anyway. :D

You can still have fun without going below the waist. ;) I don't think thats an excuse, even if the sex life was such a big deal for him then he should tell his wife that. You never know, she might want to be involved or arrange another girl herself. Or she might realise the marriage can't last and they seperate from each other for the better, in anycase she deserves honesty.

Contrary to what people think, there's only a certain amount of blood on the menstrual flow. It works like that: during one month, a woman's uterus gets prepared to receive a seed and make a bay-bee. It's like of a natural "cradle" made of some gooey things. When the seed doesn't arrive, the "cradle" is literally dismantled and expelled. THAT's what comes out during a girl's period. Does includes blood, but it's not ALL blood.

She's developing intolerance to pain.

Not necessarily. Some girls have highly elastic hymens. It may just mean that she will be tight forever.

Or maybe her hymen will never figure into the story line and will be left to the delightful musings of netpervs.

You guys are dissecting everything about the series, why not her hymen? All women had one at some moment of their lives. Even Ali Larter.

But there is blood and it is part of her body, so either way it shouldn't be expelled or need to be. As you say 'dismantled' doesn't fit with her power so does she even need to have her period. I don't much care either way but its a 'real' show and all and thats a 'real' consequence of the power she has. :D

I dunno, that seems a bit strange. She can have her neck broken without a yelp, but if you staple her hand she'll cry out. Objects penetrating her maybe hurt more....

I won't go there. :wow: She must be highly resistant to aging too since oxidants won't do enough damage in a day to slow her down, she should be immortal in fact.

Ragdus - Well its just interesting because she is a girl and certain things shouldn't be 'healed'. Whereas Wolverine as a guy only has the whole 'not been cut' thing going. ;)

Her blood jumping back into her was a crappy effect.

Sylar will eat Nukeboy's brain and then use his new power to nuke New York. That's how it goes, folks.

That's what makes him such a great character. :) He's got so many issues. He's not really a good guy...But you get the sense that, even though he sucks, he's got potential to be a true hero.

I'm VERY curious why he lied about the painting.

Honestly...I don't think there is a single character I find uninteresting!

They need to stop finding dumb ways to display Claire's powers.

maybe they're the cheapest to render ;)

Her blood was sucked back into her body. Come on.

come on, it's a TV show fer chrissakes

There's only so much I'm willing to accept.:csad:

Settle down and accept it at face value. You'll find you will enjoy the show a lot more if you live by it's rules, instead of trying to make it live by yours.

The blood getting sucked back into her staple wound was odd. It looked cool and it was just a minor detail, though, so I ignored it.

So, in the preview for next weeks episode, it said that there could be others with powers. Anyone thinking Mohinder will have powers? Call me crazy, but i think his power would be to multiply. Think about it, in the past epsides there have been some scenes with a lizard called Mohinder and then there's some scenes were i got confused on who was Mohinder.

What do you guys think?

Where did you get confused on who was Mohinder? That's never happened to me.

I think Mohinder will eventually have a power, but I'm hoping he won't. I like the idea of him as the normal human who puts the pieces together and solves the mystery of the heroes. He could be their everyman POV character.

BTW, anyone think that new symbol that was on that guy and Matt means a symbol of death? I mean the guy who's kinda like a nuclear guy had it and maybe he's the one that causes NY to go. And then there's Matt and maybe if that symbol means like a death symbol, maybe something will happen to him?

I got confuse on who was named Mohinder and who was named Chandra. Then i realized Chandra is the father and Mohinder is the son.

Ah. I figured out the names pretty quickly, but I've got a lot of family friends with Indian names, so I guess I'm used to them.

I thought it might've been a side-effect of the memory erasure process that Tall, Dark, and Creepy does. Or maybe it's some kind of brand that Bennett puts on the metahumans he captures to keep track of them after he lets them loose again.

That would be another thing, that could be about the symbol. I agree. :ninja:
