Episode 9 "Angels and Demons" review thread.

Yeah, as great as the episode was, it just didn't have enough Blade. I can only hope Krista's days as a mole are over. She's either with Blade, or with Marcus, or she's dust. There's also the issue of her whole family being dead. Now that all of that conflict is out of the way, there won't need to be so muc introspection on her. Let's turn things to Blade, as they should be. I loved the bit with him and Shen in the tunnels, though;

"You've got a pest problem, here."
"What kind of pests?"
"Daywalkers."
*YOINK!!*

I definitely loved the fight between Marcus and Dammick. He was throwin' homeboy around like a ragdoll! On a technical note, nice wirework from the stunt team! Better than some feature films I've seen!

This episode was great on so many levels. Off the back, Blade snatching that familiar up out of nowhere was awesome. :D

But the story...wow. We now understand somewhat the connections between vampires and their sires, how loyalty comes into play. Marcus is evil, and now we know why. This whole season has pretty much been Krista's arc, and how she has to come to terms with being a vampire. Next week's looks interesting.

Great damn epsiode! Did anyone else get that Angel vibe when Blade was spying on Krista and Marcus. Blade looked hurt that Krista was having sex with Marcus. I think Blade's got a thing for Krista. That whole scene reminded me of the Angel spying on Cordeilia and Connor.[/quote]

I was thinking the same thing at the end of that episode. That scene was powerful in Angel and it is the same way for Blade. I'm looking forward to the next episode. I couldn't really say that until now.

I didn't really watch Angel so I didn't catch the reference.
I loved the episode, I liked seeing Marcus' past. I love how every element of the show's plot ties into another one.
Is it me, or does Blade seem none-too-pleased with Krista lately? :)

At least when the two cops were talking about Blade (too early...can't remember their names...lol) they mentioned about the time he was in custody from Blade Trinity.

Blade doesn't get a lot of screen time. I'm wondering if Goyer intended the show that way. I realize the show is titled Blade but we have three movies focusing strictly on that character. Maybe they are trying to immerse everyone on how things are in the vampire world. Blade is like that urban legend that shows up when necessary. Sorry for getting off topic :).

It will be cool to see that FBI agent tracking down Blade.

Plus, it was a nice tribute to Blade:Trinity that the Forensic lady mentioned that 'Blade had onced escaped from FBI custody'. At least there's some sense of continuity now.

That's the one movie you'd think they wouldn't want to reference.

blade the series is more violent then the blade movies.

Hmm, I wouldn't say that. I'll say Blade the Series has more depth than the movies, that's for sure.

And what happened to Isabelle? She was bitten, raped and killed. Shouldn't she be a vampire now?

In an earlier episode they mention that for someone to be turned they can't have all their blood drained, I think the purpose of seeing the second bite was to signify Dominick was draining all her blood, thus killing her, not turning her.

So that's the rule for turning a human into a vampire. I was always confused about that. Makes sense.

Maybe, but I'm sure Krista fed on Boon for a lot longer and didn't drain him.

It was her first kill, so not as experienced but she opened his throat.

Might be interesting if she was alive, seeing as he has Krista now.

Marcus: Isabelle? I thought you were dead.

Isabelle: I am.

Marcus: Touche.

hmm.. the angle of "blood memory" was also used in Underworld.. I hope those folks don't get upset..

are the two final episodes coming in the next two weeks?

and, yeah, I'm already wanting a dvd set.. but I guess that won't come out until maybe the next season (if renewed)..

I'm pretty sure there are instances of blood memory that precede Underworld, so I don't think anyone would really try and lay claim to it. At least I hope no one would be that petty.

Vampire folklore is fluid; nobody really owns any aspect of it. Vampirella used serum to supress her blood cravings. Angel is a vampire who kills vampires. John Carpenter's Vampires is about vampire hunters. There's no need to split hairs.

Great episode, but too much Krista and less Blade. :(
I loved Marcus' back story and I really like him as a character, now.

8/10.

...just need more Blade.
I can't wait until we see Blade do at least 50% of what he does here:

Enjoy. :(

Wow, I hadn't seen that in awhile. Snipe's Blade has so much more style and flair, sortof like a darkly-heroic Errol Flynn. Sticky Jones just seems pissed off and angry all the time.

The episodes have been getting better and better though.

I really pitied Marcus. That pure-blood Dominic is a real piece of ****, raping Marcus' wife and killing her in front of him. I'm glad Marcus handed him his ass!

I wonder what Charlotte has in store for my beloved Chase, seeing as how her gigantic body guard snatched her up..?

Did anyone else notice that the Native American Indian Vampires that turned Marcus, were walking around in broad daylight as the ritual started?

Yeah, I noticed they were in broad daylight and thought WTF?

It also looked to me like Blade has more of an interest in Krista than just as an undercover ally.

Blade needs to get laid. Point blank.

Glad that Marcus finally got to tap Krista ass. I'm sure he knew it was only a matter of time.

I really don't think Marcus is evil in the pure sense. He's just driven. Last night Ep show why he chose to expreiment the Aurora vaccine on the Armaya (Dominics)house. I think he was after revenge all along.

Best episode yet. And damn Marcus rocks. I love villains with sad stories like that.

Wow....that was a great episode!!! It makes you look at Marcus in a different light. I wonder how things are going to be between Blade and Krista next episode. If appears she has turned her back on Blade. I'm also wondering if the Cop will make contact with Blade considering he has no one else to turn to.

This episode reminded my of the Highlander TV series and I enjoyed Highlander very much. With this aspect added to the mix, this series has HUGE potential.

I noticed that as well but I just chalked it up to being a "white light" memory type of thing. It's a traumatic memory, not a recording.

Anyone know the actress that played Isabelle, Marcus' wife?

Btw, fantastic episode. Loved it.
