Yup, a free month of PS+ and a free game totally makes up for this guys, I was in the wrong.
I'm pretty sure that that's inaccurate. Whoever wrote that blog was probably still a bit upset over this whole thing. "Sony Admits..." C'mon now..

And Hirai has come out again saying that they don't believe that CC information was taken. The only thing familiar about that article is the fact that there are about 10 mill. acounts with CC information in them, I've read that in a few places already.

Even IF the CC info had been compromised, the numbers are no good without the 3 digit Securtiy Number (on the back of your card) anyways. You can't buy anything without that number nowadays, so that CC number is no good if you don't have that security code.

Rumors are going around that Japan is starting to come back online. Have not seen concrete evidence yet though.

So if that's true, then the rumor about it coming back online for us, tomorrow, could be valid and true as well.

Thats crazy.. My Netflix works just fine and all my friends who have a PS3 and Netflix say theirs works just fine too.
You can watch your Netflix on your PC.
I wish that I had a capture card to show you all what I'm seeing. I get to the point of loading a movie or whatever it is that I want to watch and it errors out everytime saying that it cannot connect without the PSN. I wonder if you guys are running a different version of Netflix or a different PSN update? I mean, it really doesn't matter to me since I can watch online or though my XBOX.

That's so weird. I'm watching Netflix right now with zero issues. It has to be a location thing. It's all I can think of.

Maybe. The update thing too, maybe?

I'm hearing it's working for most people, although different number of PSN login attempts before it just bypasses it. Ryan Davis, of GiantBomb, said it took him one login attempt before it just went in. Someone else said four. It takes me two.

rumors are saying the PSN is up in Japan

It looks like there might be another Sony breach. They took down SOE Online & even the PC Version of DC Universe Online is now taken down. This is all of Sony Online Entertainment & not just the PSN

not another...the same one

Dear valued SOE customers:

We had to temporarily take down SOE services during the night. In the course of our investigation into the intrusion of our systems, we have discovered an issue that warrants enough concern. We will provide an update later today.

Just out of curiosity, did you get that in an email or did you read it somewhere?

EDIT: Nevermind, I went to SOE's official website and that's where it says that. Thanks!

It takes me two logins attempts.

I wonder if they'll up they "offer of apology" now with all of SOE down.

Sony now just needs to give us a time and date that the PSN will be back up and running.

My guess is, they probably found a similar security hole in SOE and shut it down preemptively. I don't think it suffered a breach as bad as the PSN. We'll see though.

From my understanding SOE performed an audit and found a vulnerability. They closed it to fix the issue.

I don't think Sony could give us a date, because I don't think they know when they'll have it back up.

That or they just want to surprise us. Which would be a mistake, because PS3 owners have had enough surprises lately.

But no security codes, at least, but that's a pretty significant number
