It is risky for me.
My download rate is at 30KB/s maximum. If I'm download through the system and we have a sudden blackout, which happens around here sometimes, I'll probably lose my PS3.

It'd be nice if there was a link where I can download it, but I think they haven't put it anywhere online yet.

Dude, YOU WON'T LOSE YOUR PS3, NOR IS IT RISKY. All it's doing is downloading a file to your hardrive, if it was installing directly through it whilst it was downloading then yes, it would be risky.
