I don't think everybody that gets cosmetic surgery is insecure or emotionally damaged or whatever. I can accept that there are people, probably a lot, that do it for themselves and no one else.

I have np if someone wants to get cosmetic surgery and has the cash to pay for it. Personally I think it can make a person look like a wax sculpture and overall creepy at times, but it's up to them. I have np with ppl who use it to repair damage from birth defects, being burned in a fire, ect. I personally wouldn't get cosmetic surgery unless it was needed (the above mentioned fire dmg, etc), but that's a personal choice.

I do think some ppl can go overboard tho, and some doctors should know when to refuse to give surgery. Ppl who are perfectly healthy, but become obsessed with perfection can go cosmetic surgery crazy. Take a look at Michael Jackson, I think there's a time as a doctor that after doing 6 or so nosejobs on the guy and his nose starts falling off that you realize it's time to stop. Or in the case of that Wildestein lady asking to look like a cat, I mean if she wants to and has the money then that's her right. However she looks creepy and had nothing wrong with her in the first place.

Then what is your point? That people abuse and get addicted to things? That we should only allow some people to get cosmetic surgery based on a set of guidelines that we come up with as to what is a 'good' or 'bad' reason?

I think that we should just try to prevent old people from getting too much plastic surgery. Look your age! Old ladies with plastic faces are so scary ;_;

If you want to argue this, this isn't the first time I read you argue about how "wrong" plastic surgery was, and that first post that you did, pretty much doesn't make any exceptions for anyone who wishes to go under the knife.

Now as of this last 2 pages, you finally are "backpaddling" as to say, you would date someone who had plastic surgery or now you think not everybody is a head case who gets surgery.

You really do seem overly opinionated on a subject based on what 1 documentary? Maybe 2?

Yes, there are people who abuse plastic surgery. Yes there are people who get work done that don't really need it except in their own eyes. However, there are people who abuse alcohol, gambling, etc. There will always be people like that.
