If Eva's going to be Wasp, I could be okay with it. She has the right mentality, she can act...I guess, and she looks the part. Could be worse....much much worse.
And besides, at least Eva will bring people to the theatres, and if Avengers does big numbers, we'll see more Avengers later. Ah ha! It's like they planned it!

Has anyone considered that this doesn't really make sense? Think about it- people are speculating Longoria as the Wasp. But we know that Wright's screenplay would place Pym's adventures in the 60's. So unless Hank hooks up with a much younger Wasp, would it make much sense for her to be the Wasp?

The Wright Ant-Man isn't part of the Avengers series. Wright himself said they are set on using Pym in the avengers movie.

I disagree.

She's a cop whose a Spider-man level power house with enhanced senses that fights with her bare hands.

That's a much harder role then being a socialite ditz obsessed with fashion who shoots at her enemies with stingers or shrinking.

I don't see her in any avengers films; she's just not that important of a character.

That doesn't mean Tigra would be an easy character any random actress could do well in.

That unfortunately has become Pym's claim to fame. He's not an interesting enough character to people that they overlook it like Spider-man.

Fandom has pretty much turned on him permanently after that incident. It's only been made worse with the Ultimates.
