So here's a couple o questions just to get this thread going again lol

Is it the blonde chick's head laughing in the bag, or Mia's?

And who thinks the twist wll be...The guy in the blue shirt is the last one standing...only when we think he's going to survive like Ash, he gets possesed and it's Mia who kills him after the demon leaves her and goes into him? Or it leaves her first and her and her brother think they're fine, then he gets possesed as a last cruel act, she kills him when he tries to kill her [What with the machete almost going through her head in the trailer].
And when we see her standing in front of the burning cabin and walking down the road..it cuts like the original with the director riding a bike at the star?

The way I've always taken it is the original Evil Dead was a stand-alone film, and that the sequel was really a re-hash if you will, and a lead up to Army of Darkness. I've always thought that Ash gets posessed at the end of the first one, so while he survives the night, he doesn't make it out of the woods. I would be perfectly fine with no one making it out alive in this one.

Anyway back on topic Evil Dead's 1st Cut got a NC-17 Ratting

Following the gorey Red Band trailer that came online earlier this month, the current cut of Fede Alvarez's upcoming horror remake, Evil Dead has received an "NC-17" rating from MPAA. ShockTillYouDrop.com caught the update, straight from Alvarez's own Twitter feed.

"Was proud of scoring a NC17 when submitted!" Alvarez writes, "But we had to cut stuff out to get an R and get the film into theaters."

In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

Opening in theaters on April 12, the Fede Alvarez-directed film stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas and Elizabeth Blackmore.

I liked what I saw when I visited the set, but what's really bolstering my excitement for the film is that I keep hearing from many industry friends that Sony is incredibly happy and proud of the film. With a hard R rated horror film you typically get the big studios putting them out, collecting the cash and acting embarrassed by the whole thing. If they like how this has turned out, then they see more than money in it, they see a good film.

Regarding the recent story about how the MPAA hit the film with an NC-17 and it was cut for an R... Alvarez tweeted shortly after that saying that every bit of gore you see in the redband trailer is in the film and the cuts they had to make aren't as steep as people are worried about. So, if you liked the trailer you ain't getting anything less gory than that.

Gore is awesome. I love it, but it really is about the filmmaking and the characters being there. If Alvarez nailed it and the movie makes some bank, from what I hear we're in for a fun ride over these next few years.
