Evil Dead 4?

That's interesting because I feel like the last decade has been nothing but kind to the 2013 version. I remember it being a mixed response at the time, but it really seems like folks have started to come around to its sadistic charms.
I was one of the films biggest critics when it was released. My initial reaction was its good but the only thing really interesting about it was they were able to convince a major studio to give a movie that violent a wide release. I've done a complete 180 since and think it's the third best remake ever made after the The Thing 82 and The Fly.

Saw this tonight. I liked it quite a bit, didn't love it. Definitely a lot to love from a filmmaking perspective. Sutherland and Sullivan absolutely ruled in their roles, but I really couldn't stand any of the kids. The setup in particular was kind of brutal to sit through, but once things got rolling I was far more engaged.

I had a lot of fun with it. Hard to compare it to the OG trilogy since I have so much nostalgia and love for those, but I will say I probably liked it just a smidge more than Evil Dead 2013. That movie was an excellent remake, and I don't have many issues with it, but I did like the change of setting in this movie, and getting away from the cabin.

While the trope of 'stupid characters doing stupid things' can get a bit grating (no pun intended) I think at least here with the kids/teens, I can overlook that trope a bit easier because kids do stupid things. I had a bigger issue with the guy who unleashed the demons in the 2013 movie, in this movie it was still a bit eye rolling but just a bit less.

This is a beauty!

That's better than the 2013 film, which got a "C+".

Ahh just a great thrill ride of a movie to come out of. this was satisfying for all evil dead and horror fans in general. Some audible swearing from the audience in some of the films brutal scenes and just a very well made film. I personally liked the 2013 film more though..... Oh the opening title sequence for this film = Perfection. Even the end credits with certain imagery got me a little shook lol disturbing one might say

7.5/10

Love that Cronin brought back levitation. That was absent in the last one. He really milks it well in this one.

Cronin said that he thinks Bruce Campbells voice cameo on the vinyl in the film could actually be Ash himself. It would make sense, and while I don't remember exactly what line was said by Bruce, there was urgency to it. Could totally be Ash.

Watched it last night.

Overall I enjoyed it! The characters were great but it wasn't that scary. It was more funny and goring than anything I feel like. Plenty of good one good liners.

WOW

Definitely expecting it sooner rather than later. Can't believe it almost went straight to streaming. I really hope these studios understand the demand for this stuff now. And that the rumor of Fede Alvarez's alien movie going to theaters instead of hulu is true also.

Watched it yesterday and I enjoyed it. Great visuals and found the whole family to be interesting characters. There was loads of blood but wasn’t as gory as the 2013 movie I felt

Glad to hear it did rather well in the BO this weekend. Hopefully we get news of a new movie soon

Just saw it.
Alyssa Sutherland is unquestionably...mother.
Might be my 2nd favorite after ED2, i think its tied with AOD for me, VERY strange set of movies for sure but all have been hits, no misses.
Got some Silent Hill vibes from it.

Really enjoyed this one. Ellie definitely ranks as one the most menacing deadites in the series.

Was not expecting them to go full-on Rat King in the third act.

Would love for them to keep using the new kinds of demons in the sequel.

One dissapointing thing i have to mention though...

They set up the cat in the vents early on and i was REALLY hoping for a ****ed up deadite cat that would've been fun"]

Just saw this and liked it a lot. Not as much as the OG trilogy or Ash vs Evil Dead, but still liked it. This was scary as hell, but I did miss the trademark Raimi humor. Other than that, excellent movie

I read that it was considered but it was a limit for the director to show that.

But they showed a dead dog in the last one!
