The trailer looks, good pretty much the original with better effects and budget.
Only thing putting me off watching is the involvement of Diablo Cody, she is just a terrible writer.

She just did a final pass on the script anyways.

Yeah I hope whatever she did to the script was at a minimum.

Im a bit confused by the rape tree scene. In the original it occurs pre-evilness, but in this trailer she appears to already be afflicted when it attacks her. She has ol' sith eyes and goo and blood on her and coming out of her. Yet at the same time in another part she is screaming and looks human still. So does she transform while being attacked or is there two rape tree scenes at different parts of the film, one pre-evil and one post-evil?

That trailer got my ticket. I don't know why some are saying it is scary or disturbing. It looks like a campy, self-aware gory blast. It just looks more like the original which tried to be a bit scary at times.

She screams at being attacked and while looking at something else. Maybe she's seeing what she turns into mocking her.

Wow - you have nerves of steel my friend.

I think that whole tree scene is just cut weird with a later part cut into the middle of it. Seemed to mee that she gets attacked and starts oozing and puking black goo.

God, this movie...

The woods has a large role. Mia gets raped, chased, emerges from the water and gets buried!

The look on that Deadite's face when it's singing "We're gonna get you.."

That's some creepy ****.

Just saw the trailer. Yeah, getting my ticket soon as. And spare underwear to take the cinema too... just in case.

Looks hilariously awful. Comedy of the year for sure.

I don't know what to say as I found nothing in this the least bit shocking or scary. It's trying to hard.

I know the first Evil Dead isn't exactly the most serious thing ever but it had charm and a certain type of dark comedic value that was earned. I got none of that from this trailer.

This is how I may feel after the film. Either because it was totally scary or due to it being piss poor.

Jane Levy's acting is shockingly convincing though!

And I'm going to say again, with my opinion, it looks set to be one of the best horrors in decades...I'm THAT sure!

I'll cut my hand off if otherwise :p

Well hopefully I'm wrong and it turns out to be good.

I hope so lol

But makes me think it'll be good is that it reminds me of the most controversial European horror movies of the 70's. It may seem like it's trying too hard, but I feel it's not holding back any punches.

'EVIL DEAD’ REMAKE HAS ABSOLUTELY NO CGI IN THE ENTIRE MOVIE

One of the worst parts of modern horror movies is the use (and overuse) of CGI blood and CGI fire and, well, CGI everything. But you’ll get none of that in the new ‘Evil Dead‘ remake. NONE of it.

Have you seen the new ‘Evil Dead’ red band trailer? If not, go watch it now. If yes, you should go watch it now too. It’s OK, we’ll wait.

Back? Good.

Lots of crazy s— going on in that trailer. Not the least of which involves a girl puking copious amounts of blood in another girl’s face and a girl sawing off her own arm with an electric knife. And director Fede Alvarez says it’s all done through the magic of practical effects. There’s not a single shot of CGI in this movie. (We know, kinda hard to believe after you watch that trailer.)

Says Alvarez:

We didn’t do any CGI in the movie. There’s no CGI in the movie. Everything you will see is real, which was really demanding. This was a very long shoot, 70 days of shooting at night. There’s a reason people use CGI it’s cheaper and faster, I hate that. We researched a lot of magic tricks and illusion tricks.

About that aforementioned scene where the girl saws her own arm off, Alvarez says, “She goes for the knife, you see her arm, she starts going for it. And you think they’re going to cut away at any moment, but we don’t. She just goes for it and screams and the arm breaks and falls.”
