The Dark Knight Evolution of the Batmobile and the Joker Motivation

I think that's just it: Riddler isn't interesting enough unless he's campy, and you don't want him campy. So he takes some small role. Come to think of it, he only had a small (but important) role in Hush. In fact, the reason Hush worked is that you tended to forget about the Riddler when you were trying to figure out who was behind everything. The plot depended on him being forgettable.

I agree. Even in the Long Halloween/Dark Victory series he just has a cameo or two. Riddler isn't a character I'm dying to see in Nolan's world, but if he was placed in the next film, he could do fine with a type of supporting role.

I want to see a serious version of the Riddler in live action. We've had Carrey and Gorshin. Time for something different, methinks.

Actually, I think Catwoman would fit like a glove in the Nolanverse. The Hush/TLH version, at least.

she looked rediculous in TLH, big dopey ears, a tail, and PURPLE SUIT!! lmao. and in hush, well she basically resembled pfieffer's catwoman suit, cept with the boots and goggles.

I disagree about Hush and I mentioned TLH (and Hush) for her character, not her suit.

Since this thread seems to have careened into Riddler discussion, I'll throw my two cents in.

I think a serious, Hush/TAS-like Riddler would be an excellent villain for Nolan's universe, however the problem really revolves around how you make him dangerous enough for a film, or failing that, how he interacts with other characters. The Riddler is an awesome character for showing the detective side of Batman, but doesn't usually have the gumption for murder on his own, and in Nolan's universe I don't see how you could give his character a good cause or means for interacting with a more dangerous rogue. That said, I think there is a LOT of potential for the character and would love to see him used.

For the record, I still have a sneaking suspicion that one Anthony Michael Hall is in fact playing the Riddler. Hall's character is supposed to be obsessed with Bruce Wayne, and if the Riddler character becomes a threat to Batman's altar ego, I think that could make things extremely interesting.

The following pic could suggest that Wayne already began building the Bat Pod before the destruction of the Tumbler.

those tires look like replacements for the tumbler. The thing does needs to be serviced. Though it could be work from the batpod though I think the applied sciences dept of Wayne industries is probably making that

Any of the above theories could be correct. The Tumbler and Pod both use Sprint Car tires which are pictured above. So it could be for both vehicles.

Does anyone have any idea on whether the Bat Pod comes out of the Tumbler at one point or?? They do have a toy in which that does happen.

Something I whipped up for the occasion.

Make of it what you wish, but I'm thinking that the tires are pretty much the same.

I think that the tires of the Tumbler are bigger than the ones of the Batpod. The designs are indeed identical, but the sizes differ.

Even if they are the same type of tires, I highly doubt Bruce rips the tires off the tumbler and sticks them on the pod.

I sized down the Batpod here to match tire size for comparison.

...it's safe to say the size fits.

It seems like it.
I just remember a discussion I had when the "Tumbler gives birth to Batpod" toy first came out and someone used proof that they weren't of the same size. It bugs me that I can't remember details andthe exact page of that conversation.

I sincerely doubt that it comes straight out of the Tumbler - it's realistically impossible.

I think that, if the Tumbler is indeed destroyed, that he and Fox make the Batpod and use the spare tires they already have.

I spent a couple hours on it, I am glad it turned out amazing. Thanks very much =)

I think Mr. Socko hit on it, you deal with Riddler by making him someone who kind of acts from the shadows. This differentiates him nicely from Joker, who craves the limelight. I always felts the two characters needed more of a distinction anyway, since they were both long associated with flamboyant costumes and weird laughter.

That's a nice bit of character development there. I suspect it's just the kind of thinking Nolan's team does in the early stages of plot development. Let's hope someone sends this to them. Of course, if Hall DOES turn out to be Nigma, perhaps they've already done that spade work.

The idea that Hall is Riddler has mostly been dismissed on these boards. However, the recent reveal of Wayne's 'James Bond'-like car suggests that Nolan still has surprises in store. So, who really knows? Not me...

It's not impossible for The Batpod to come out of Batman's car.

Or Two Batpods. Each seat may well also an escape pod.

If the Custom Coupe shows up in the film, I will laugh my ass off at the "realism" people. But hey, it's been in the comics, too, so...

Just my two-cents worth on the riddler:
If for any reason the riddler did have a part, he could be a minor part, and have that same fascination with Bruce Wayne. The exact episode I'm thinking of is the TAS episode where he creates the Minotaur Maze. There he showed a lot of his Riddles and puzzles and very little empathy. He was not overly campy, and he was trying to kill. Riddler has the guts to kill if it suits him although, generally killing isn't his modus operandi, nor that important to him.

I can verify the tires on both the batpod, and tumbler. they are hoosier wing sprint tires. I have them on my replica tumbler. here is mine. These are actually made for dirt race tracks. the rubber wears out on streets, so I always wondered why they choose them.
