And Marsden :p .

Yeah, so maybe its not Singer, maybe its the egos of the other people involved.

Yeah, I read it too. He didn't say he hated SInger, but it was clear from the words he was using that he was very displeased with him. It was a while ago, I can't recall exactly where it was. May have even been an interview I saw.

I don't think he flat out said he didn't like Singer. Most of his complaints involved the make-up process for Nightcrawler.

I know Halle didn't care for Singer, Famke has said that Singer is very unexpecting and that he's very demanding on set which can grate on your nerves.

I remember her mentioning that in an interview once.

I recall reading something from him and wincing because he was so blunt about how he felt about the whole process, not just the makeup.

Dammit, I wish I could remember where that was now. It was uncomfortable to read.

I just found one of his last interviews over at IGN,but my right-click isn't working. You can check it out there.

Or maybe it's a personality clash. It doesn't have to be about anyones ego.

I actually remember reading something similar as well . . . Cumming never outright states that he hated working with Singer, but you can glean from the article that he did not necessarily enjoy the overall process . . . although, I can't blame him. After hours of tedious make-up, I probably wouldn't want to have to deal with the direction of anyone, especially someone as concerned with minutia as Singer appears to be . . . I take it Cumming and Singer both have pretty strong personalities.

The Batman said:
Cumming obviously did...i know that, and halle didnt like him either.

i always got the sense from the cast that, while they liked his directing skills, they didnt like him as a person...
Didn't one of them say that if you didn't do something the way he wanted he would flip out or something?

After directing the first two "X-Men" films, Singer has moved onto Superman, but Cumming is surprisingly not disappointed. "No. I'm not disappointed; I cannot deny that. I think he's really talented and I'm very proud of the film and I think it's a great film. I didn't enjoy working with him on the film."

I think there's another interview where he reinforced this sentiment.

He had to go through hours of makeup to transform into Nightcrawler for the last film. "I have this brilliant idea," Cumming added, "I want some kind of fabulous, crazy, terrible thing-some terrible accident happens to Nightcrawler and his face turns white."
ROFL

So are we talking about James' interview or The X-Cast Vs. Bryan Singer? :p

Also most of the crew he took from X-men 2 to Superman:

Mike Dougherty (writer)
Daniel Harris (writer)
John Ottman (editor and composer)
Newton Thomas Sigel (cinematographer)
Guy Dyas (production designer)
Roger Mussenden (casting)
Louise Mingenbach (costume)

Some of these people have known and worked with Singer since his first movie and worked with him on multiple projects.

So I doubt these people would keep coming back to work for him if they didn't feel they could function and work together.

Famke said that.

Alan seems like someone who wouldn't get along well with other gays much anyway. Haha. So that's probably why he didn't like Singer.

Aiden said:

Yeah. She said that it happened during X2 a lot and made her feel somewhat uncomfortable around him.

So take that for what you will.

I get that sometimes at school and I find it quite unsettling.

Abaddon said:
That couldve been the case.I think for the most part they all respected him,but he may have been a bit of a jerk on set.

Which is why Marsden worked with him on SR and several other cast members including Ashmore, Janssen and Jackman went to visit him in Australia.
The only one who really had an issue with him is Halle and I don't think Bryan's worried about that.

Darthphere said:
Halle Berry has an ego, its undeniable. Shes one of the main reasons Singer left.

id like to hear that from the real horses mouth mr singer or some place he hinted at that. or is that just another fan boy rant

Singer will never staright out say, I hated working with Halle Berry. So youre going to be waiting forever.

so why do people have that attitude if he never said it? nothing ive read from him or heard him say implied he had a problem with halle. something more than she didnt visit him in aussie town aint enough......unless someone who post on here was actually on set during the filming of x2 some folk are just talking out the side of their necks

Singer didn't leave because of Halle. He left because Fox waited to long to lock him up for X3 and left to go helm Superman Returns.

It was Halle who had the problem with him, as she said that she felt he made Storm weak and unimportant to the stories. So in the end, we all must remember that it was one giant drama fest.

It was falsely stated, however, that Halle once told Singer while they were on the set that he could "kiss her black ass", but she denied it and Singer said that it never happened either.
