The Dark Knight Exclusive New TDK Set Report!

Again, Uma is a good actress. B&R had a good cast, it was just the awful director and script!

Oh yes, I think Uma is generally excellent. I think she thought she'd "have fun" with the role of Poison Ivy and didn't really take it seriously (of course how could you the way the script was written) but she came across so phony.

as long as he's not in green spandex I agree.

He hasn't worn spandex in some time, really, and you KNOW Nolan wouldn't do that. If he does Riddler, you can probably expect a suit and tie, possibly a derby hat. I saw a bit of "Yankee Doodle Dandy" earlier and James Cagney had a suit on, with a bowtie and a derby, and you know Jimmy was a little guy, a dancer so very nimble, but kind of compact. And I swear the first thing I thought was, "Oh my GOD, it's the Riddler!"

:D

I agree, generally. Uma is not my first choice for Ivy even under the best of circumstances, but if she'd wanted to, and been asked to, she could have delivered. Likewise with Arnold and Friesz. Hell, the name Victor Friesz is German, isn't it? And Arnold basically looks EXACTLY like TAS Victor. Hair's even the right color. If Arnold had been asked to play Friesz as cold and merciless, with no camp, he could have done a fine job. Just see Conan the Barbarian or Terminator for evidence of that.

Lurking about, agreeing with of you.

Schumacher must die.

Well said

Lol, Schumacher called up Nolan last year and made death threats telling him if he didn't put nipples on the suit, he'd kill him and Batman:ninja:

Ooh, but I would love to see Tetch in a film oneday. He has a kind of inverted charisma that I think could be really fun and original.
He just seems to be a one-trick pony, though. I can't recall a story of his that I didn't think was ridiculous, more precisely where I didn't think HE was ridiculous. The only one that came close was that LOTDK Halloween Special by Loeb and Sale. I just do not see him as posing a real threat to Batman.
If you have any suggestions for good Mad hatter reading, please let me know, old bean.

worst batman villians
ivy, vantriloquest, madhatter, frezze, riddler!
i know for sure they wont feature in nolan's films
they are too cartoony!

If she was in the sixties Batman show, her performance would have been perfect, that was what she was going for. Schumacher himself was telling the cast "remember, this is a cartoon!"

I can't look at Uma Thurman for long periods of time I start to start get hives.

Her face looks...off.

I dunno, I like the way she can look hot and kinda weird/dorky at the same time. People say in person she´s a bit of a geek, actually.

Look, all i gotta say is that he's gotta have the laugh, Mark Hamill and Jack Nicholson both had their laugh's down pat, sorry but he's gotta have it

And I want the batman movies to show off the villians, I want the riddler and bane (for real not some stupid henchman who doesn't say ****) and Ivy and Freeze and Croc and Ventriloquist, but just taken seriously and realistically....oh Ventriloquist can be done really well, the pyshchology can be done really well in a realistic setting, I mean they did it with scarecrow

Damn... I keep forgetting how perfect Two-Face is for Nolan. It is soooo up his alley, it's sick. I can't wait for Two-Face.

Hell, he might be more of a show-stealer than Joker.

:D

I would put Riddler in a green polo (with a little ? where the 'guy on the horse' would normally be) and slacks. No hat. No red hair. Some Eye-liner. Make him fashionable (in my re-imagining of Riddler he is an ex-fashion mogul) and make him charismatic. Crazy. yes. Joker-like laugh and mannerisms to make even Michael Jackson flinch. No.

I dunno, maybe Schumacher will finally get to nolan :wow: ....kidding!

I imagined riddler as being the opposite of fashionable in the nolanverse (although it is a cool idea). I see him as being a kind of scuzzy underworldling who will help whoever comes to him with the most money (or threatens him more). Always in riddles though, but with no actual costume persay.

As good an example of Hatter's deadly potential as any was to be found in the recent Secret Six miniseries. His portrayal in Arkham Asylum is probably the most eerie to date.

I'll look into it.
Don't like Arkham Asylum, though.:csad:
Kill me now if you must.:oldrazz:

No, I sort of agree. It's all a bit "extreme" in a bit of a "New Comics" sort of fashion. I think Morrison wanted to be Alan Moore, but then realised he wasn't as bright.

Heh. Put more succinctly than I ever could.

Riddler is good...he can be easily reimagined by chris nolan (like scarecrow) into a really cool villain

I don't really know what to think of "Arkham Asylum". It's got great art, and some great elements (the portrayal of The Joker, the flashback stuff with the original Dr. Arkham) but that's all kinda crammed into what seems like a somewhat pedestrian story. And Batman's character just feels totally off.

Still a good story, and I'd recommend it. Not sure if its quite deserving of its "all time classic" status though.
