The Dark Knight Exclusive TDK Set Report #2!

So, how close is that last manip ? In % ? Because our friend Jett said on BOF that it's "way off" :csad:

BTW, nice report Noirman!

ugh...i dont understand why since the moment i started posting here ive got nothing but BS...i dont know why you guys are so damn rude, i never did anything wrong...ah **** it

Right... well I think I'm going to let my friend Holy take care of that panda accusation.

He'll shoot that down brilliantly.

All I want to know is if joker has the black panda eyes?

This is the thread that just keeps giving.

Rough, yes, however that is alot like what we saw. get rid of the flower, put stripes in the tie, a purple vest underneath, and you're solid. That color of purple is dead on :cwink:

yeah, same purple, black stripes on the tie.

I noticed when Joker and crew passed us, Heath's white make-up was only over his face. All of his skin didn't appear to be white like in the first Batman movie. My assumption was that Nolan was at it again with his picture perfect realism.

Dude just has terrible scars on his mouth and painted his face up like a clown. Ya know, something a madman would do. Yeah.

This manip is almost spot-on. His lips weren't a washed out red though, they were a brighter and deeper red.

In this manip, for some reason, his hair seems yellowish in some parts like he dyed his hair with water colors. His actual hair is entirely a dark dirty green, and his roots were even darker. Very stringy hair that fell over his face slightly, like he had dyed it a month ago and never washed it.

you guys make me do the happy dance :woot:

You guys, you guys. Calm down. Chill. You are over reacting. You are basing your entire opinion on the Joker's mythos and the direction of the movie on the set glances of a few die-hard fans, who watched a stunt scene being filmed.

As I stated many pages ago, more than likely his make-up is a bit more rough due to the fact that they are only stunt shots and no close-ups are being done.

Even that being said, the make up still looked great.

And shut the hell up with this "panda eyes" crap. You guys sound ridiculous. He looks like a madman, not a cute Asian endangered mammal.

We know nothing about his origin yet. So stop jumping to conclusions.

Calm down. I assure you he looks awesome and you will not be disappointed. Don't freak out yet. It'll be alright. Shhhh. It's ok. Shhhh. Shhhh. There...

Wow, I just got the (s)laughter = "slaughter" thing. I probably should stop drinking so much.

Anyway, amazing report!

Please tell me you're kidding. I'm all for realism, but many of the rumors suggested he was INDEED bleached/all-white - i.e., he doesn't just cover his face in makeup. Having Joker just be a scarred madman who covers himself in white is a step too far. Perhaps it was just more pronounced on his face and nowhere else because they weren't doing close-ups?

I differ with my friend with this on. I only saw Heath's real skin when his head was in a certain position. These shots were also in a fast moving truck at something of a distance. They may have just saved time and money and just did a "good enough" kind of make-up application. Thats my theory.

So from what you "set report guys" seen, can people stop calling Heath Ledger's Joker "panda eyes"?

dear god, yes. his eyes looked cool. with his white face and dark eyes and smile, Joker's face actually gets srorched into your retina a little. Those eyes and smile are still fresh in my head from the first time I saw him...its just creepy...

don't listen to Jett. That manip is closer to the real thing than different from it. It's alomst fully accurate.

a simple question.
is it black around the eyes?

Heath Ledger as The Joker armed with an RPG in the back of a carnival semi marked "(S)Laughter is the Best Medicine" apparently chasing after an armored car.

Note: I hate how YouTube butchers video quality.

Ok, I am a little annoyed with things like this. They do not do "rough jobs" for things like this, or "just good enough."

Even when they use a stunt man, which means they are REALLY not going to clearly see his face, they still do full make-up.

The only time there are things not done are when they are not needed because they are not intended to be seen at all.

IE, they will not cover his whole torso with make-up if he is wearing clothes. they would only do it if they wanted to show his whole torso.

same with the hands, if he is wearing gloves, they would not do his hands.

This doesn't mean that those parts will never make unexpected appearances. Mistakes happen.

Just look at the first appearance of J in '89. When he takes his hat off and steps into the light there is a purple smear on his neck.

Oddly enough this came from them using purple make-up on his jacket because his white make-up would get on it, so they touched it up. And then ironically, the purple would get on the white areas, lol.

This shot made it in as it was the best performance.

sweet you could see the jokers figure in the trailer:heart: luv the video
