I'm fine if his face is white and his hair is green and the lips are makeup. That will mean that the lips will be naturally purplish or some bruised color. But if it's all makeup, than Nolan is an idiot.

Is that red on his nose? If it is my guess is that it may be apart of his clown disguise or perhaps a blood spatter; I'll probably say clown because I sort of see a hint of red near his cheek bone.

There's little doubt that they got the Joker's personality and character down pat - standing in the back of a semi shooting cops, dressed in a trenchcoat, with "Slaughter is the best medicine" painted on the side means the Nolans have done their homework (or Goyer wrote up a gigantic "use these ideas/references" pamphlet.)

The problem most people have is the look. I'm OK with the "panda eyes" - it gives him a demented look, like he's looking out of two eyeholes in a mask. What I'm worried about is over-"real"ing this thing and making him just a psycho with makeup on. I don't care if he paints on the lips, but please please Jeebus in heaven, don't make him some regular guy with scars who paints his face white.
