Comics Explanation of Storms powers...

Storm is one with the earth. I started off with that because I think most of her feats come from that. Her spirit is bonded with eergy and living thing.

Earthquake: I belive she was able to actually tap into the earths power to cause an earthquake. Now their was a thoery that their were 'weather earthquaes" so it could be that as well.

Water control: I also think this comes with her tapping into the power of the earth. She said that it is the same way she controls winds and if such winds are in her control...then...

Air: Storm does not just control wind, she controls air. I also think this has somewhat to do with her being one with the earth.



Anyway, I have recently found out that Storm is an ecopath:

Ecopaths, also referred to as ecomancers, have the ability to control the elements and non-sentient biological organisms. They also have an extreme compassion for living beings and share a deep connection with life.

IIRC, Kitty once quoted something to this extent:

I can handle losing my phasing abilities. But Storms power made her one with the earth, and mabe even LIFE itself.

This may also be a hint. Now we all know the "Goddess" phrase she calls out when surprised, scared, overwhelmed, etc. This is thought to be someone named "Gai" or something like that. But I personally think that she is somehow connected to a goddess or to that extent as well.

Storm is a highly powerful mutant, alot of people say we overhype her but i think more people underestimate her. Great idea by the way, maybe people will see how powerful storm truly is, alot of this stuff i diden't know just by watching the tv show and movie.

But I have to admitt, when she becomes eveil (tv and comics)..it isn;tvery much. Uncanny X-men #147 all she did was shoot lightning twice. "Savage land, Savage heart" episode of TAS, I thought she would take her powers to an advanced level like actually threaten someone other than an X-man. But it was pretty cool anyway. Anyway, I really do believe she is connected to this ''Goddess" somwhow.

What about Magma/Lava. Being one with the Earth would enable her to create volcanic eruptions.

"Savage land, Savage heart" episode of TAS, I thought she would take her powers to an advanced level like actually threaten someone other than an X-man. But it was pretty cool anyway. Anyway, I really do believe she is connected to this ''Goddess" somwhow.

She diden't just shoot lightning, she created a massive storm that almost chewed up docter doom's entire castle, a storm that almost killed her to put away. Her breath was fire and ice, and her voice was as loud as thunder. The cartoon and movie counter part are nothing compared to what she's done in the comics.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the storm. Now that was impressive. I also LOVED when they stated stuff like her power being almost infinite at that point, her having unlimited power, her being one with the planet (or something). And at the end, I LOVED how she rode raw energy through the storm and stuff. And I liked (yeah i know, it's a lot) when Angel arrived and her said "I can't survive those winds, nothing living can". Just comes to show that you don't wanna get on her bad side. But I guess that issue IS pretty good.

Why is there a thread for this? This hould be in the Official Storm thread... that's why there are separate threads for each char, so the proliferation of such topics do not clutter the site. We need a more active mod in this part of the board...

Oh you didn;t see my top post? I just wanted other peoples opinions since their has been a lot of ''Storm is no goddess" stuff. So I figured I'd let them kow how I think she is somwwhat connected to that.

Hon, you post that sort of thing where the people say "ororo is no goddess", you don't create a new thread that you don't know they're going to read. If they don't like Storm it is very likely they will not even open this thread. You have to show this info right in their face and then gloat when they can't disput your findings... much to learn you have, young padawan... much to learn...

I think Storm is one underated character, especially lately with her wedding with the Black Panther. She's a very powerful character and I hope she decides to come back with the X-Men. I miss seeing her in the main X-titles.

Storm may be many things, but underated isn't one of them.

Whoa...have you read the book? I can say a lot of bad things about Hudlin but making Storm inferior is not one of them.
