^Yeah, that was a bit "on the edge". They should have left that out, with the exception of her zapping the crap outta Callisto :woot: . I voted yes for the extended scenes. Anything to see a better developed and understanding scene :cwink: .

i dont find any reason why the deleted scenes were deleted....:o :whatever: :csad: :cmad:

You mean someone wants more of the shait? :wow:

Well, I guess it's like Oliver. When you're starved, you'll want more than what you get, even if it's nasty disgusting slop.

i did my own extended edition (edited the movie) and i must with a few tweaks here and there, the deleted scenes make the movie soo much better. really sucks they werent left in. Also took some scenes i found unecessary or cheesy out.

I picked the first option; I love the movie but would like to see an extended / alternate version.

BUT

I wouldn't want to see ALL of the alternate / extended scenes included.

I would want:

-Phoenix's extended destruction: Ratner says it "takes you out of the film". I think it's exactly the opposite. I think it flows with the movie a whole lot better.

-Storm's Tidal Wave: This is another one that the crew said didn't flow perfectly. I disagree. The way the film is edited as is, the tidal wave would fit perfectly.

The Brotherhood rushes the X-Men. Beast growls, Wolverine claws down the light post, Storm rises, Callisto begins to chase her. INSERT tidal wave sequence, continue on with fight as is, and then have Callisto ir tackle Storm. It works pretty well.

-Iceman & Colossus vs. Phat: Because it shows us another mutant that was introduced earlier, and it gives more to do for Iceman and Colossus.

-Alternate Wolverine speech to Iceman, Kitty, & Colossus: The alternate version is so much more in character for everyone involved. It also gives more of an arc to the younger X-Men, who have developed through 3 movies to this point now, and they are ready.

-Alternate Magneto speeches: I know they were shot, because they were in the trailers. The trailer versions of "They wish to cure us, but I say we are the cure" and "There's only one question you must answer; who will you stand with" are much better than the theatrical versions in my opinion.

-Leech on the machine: We need to see more of exactly what is going on with Leech.

-Alternate Xavier's School ending: It makes much more sense for Storm to run the school with Beast alongside her, and Iceman now becoming a teacher, showing his graduation from teacher to X-Men. It's MUCH better than the Beast going to the U.N. crap, and I actually like Halle's "Looks like the weather's changing again" line, giving some payoff to Xavier's earlier comments. The remarks from Beast and Iceman are okay too, giving a much happier tone to the ending.

-Alternate Rogue ending: Self explanatory, really. Rogue should never have taken the cure. Contemplated it? Absolutley. Gone through with it? No.

What I don't want:

-Extended fight sequence at Jean's house: The scene as is, is brilliant. It's epic, emotional, I feel for Jean and Xavier in that scene. The extended fight kind of takes you out of that. Storm's lightning punches, although brilliant in concept, come off rather cheesy. Wolverine as the lightning rod into Juggernaut's head is rather cheesy. The moment is supposed to be epic, powerful, emotional, and it is. Adding in those elements only detracts from that, in my opinion. I prefer the version we got.

-Alternate Jean power display in woods: Lame. That's it. She turns a cup into a nuclear reactor? That has nothing to do with the powers she actually displays in the film. Although not as visually pleasing, the cure dart taunting of Magneto is much more personal, and much more powerful, than turning a goofy cup into a nuke.

-Pyro telling Magneto about the cure: I think Magneto's introduction in the church is amazing. This scene, while not bad in itself, would only take away from Magneto's church intro.

-Wolverine going to Canada alternate ending: No reason for him to leave. He's found a home with the X-Men... why would he just pack up and leave? Many people also already feel this was a Wolverine trilogy. This would only further that conception, as it bookends the X-Men saga into Wolverine's journey with them. Now, I am ALL FOR Wolverine being a key player in any and every X-Men movie. Wolverine is the guy when it comes to the X-Men, I would expect no less. He is just as important as Cyclops, Storm, Jean, Xavier, or any of them, and should NOT be left out. I have no problem with him being the "main" guy. BUT, the X-Men is not Wolverine's adventures... the story shouldn't be about his time with the X-Men, and then they end when he leaves... it's a good scene in itself, and a nice callback to X-Men, but it's a very wrong direction to take, and glad it was cut.

-"Here's Juggy": Absolutley lame.

Agreed, but how would you then do Logan's scene? I mean, if Beast is at the school as a teacher, then Logan shouldn't be watching Beast in Washington accepting a job as an ambassador...and cutting to him directly walking out on the balcony might seem a little...off.

So if you don't include the Canada ending, what ending does Logan have? I agree though that the Canada ending shouldn't be included, however I think, with the way that it worked in the final cut, that it worked fine. There might need to be some retooling if you change the ending moments around, which I don't think will happen anytime soon.

gap5ewl, could you show us some of your extended X3? I'm planning on doing one myself someday too.

I too voted option 4.

I don't want to see every deleted scene from the DVD back in the movie, but a couple of them, along with a re-edit, would certainly make the movie better.

What I would like to see:

Re-insert Xavier's opening monologue.

A re-edit of the Danger Room scene. Make it a bit longer, with the X Men working as a team, discussing strategy, and more buildup to the Sentinel.

Re-insert Storm's Africa reference, as seen on the DVD.

Jimmy in laboratory scene.

Extended fight at Jean's house. Keep the longer scuffle on the street outside, but dump all of Juggernaut's lines, and his electrocution.

Psychic battle. This dialogue could add so much to the scene, if it were editted in the scene cleverly. Not all the dialogue needs to be used, just some lines that explain what is going on with Jean and Phoenix.
I don't like the concept of Phoenix being Jean's second personality, and thought it was hardly developped throughout the movie. The lines "Phoenix, I want you to stop this" and "I won't let you do this to me again" would add greatly to this.

Beast warns Trask.

Jean sensing a little girl.

Original X Men board the jet scene.

Magneto asking Jean to help in the final battle.

Bobby freezes Phat and Storm's tidal wave. Both could use some touched up effects, but it gives Iceman, Colossus and Storm a bit more to do in the final battle. I agree with Nell, it's good to see a mutant shown earlier in the movie appear in the final battle. Makes it less "random".

Extended Dark Phoenix destruction.

Re-insert all the alternative endings, save for the Wolverine one.

Other things I'd like to see:
Whatever was shot of Angel, re-insert it. There are animatics of him landing at the mansion, and Ben Foster has said he got to kick bad guy ass. I'd like to see his part expanded, and his arc having more of a pay off.

Phoenix effects.

Psylocke in the final battle. The actress playing Psylocke said she shot a scene with her shooting mental daggers at the X Men. That would be great to see, and make her part less "throw away".

You hit the nail on the head with the problem with changing the ending around. If Beast stays at the school, what character resolution do they show for Wolverine? They'd have to shoot another scene.

For this reason, I think Beast's role with the UN is fine. On a minor point, it also gives him a good reason to pop up in the F4 movie!

I liked some and disliked others. To me, the only viable reason for leaving out the extended destruction scene for Phoenix, is that this would have been the moment the firebird materialised.
ROGUE SHOULD NOT BE CURED!

I wonder how many deleted scenes are????? I hear that someone saw a 2 hour with 15 minutes version of the film.....

Theres stuff we don't even see on the deleted scenes section of the dvd such as the Storm Africa reference chat and the Psylocke scenes.Who knows what else they may have cut?

If they release a new cut of the movie with at least 10 minutes added i'll buy it.

I want to see the Psylocke scenes, and a version longer of the film, so yes, of course.

I don't care, because they can't uncure rogue now-so were stuck with the piece of crap that they gave us.

There should be an extended version of this movie, and they need to place some of the alternate scenes. The theatrical ending mansions scene was fine, Beast doesn't need to be there. The Wolverine at the bar ending is unnecessary. However, Rogue not taking the cure should be put into the movie. I never saw the alternate Wolverine speech, but the one in the theatrical version is far too Cyclops for Wolverine, and should be replaced by the other one.

So I would love to see an alternate version.

is there any actual word or news or any peice of evidence whatsoever to make one believe that there will actually be a extended or alternate edition of the last stand released? or is this simply wreckless wishing? believe me i would love one, but i would have also loved a great movie,.. and we all know how that went.

It's wishful thinking at the moment, but no harm is seeing what the general feeling is on here. We may get another edition as Brett said his 'making of' documentary was to feature on a later version.

I bought the extended edition of Spider-Man 2 (Spider-Man 2.1) and you'd be surprised what an extra 8 minutes can do to a movie. As Harry Osborn would say;"So Good".:woot:

Imagine what a good 10 to 20 minutes could do for X3? :xmen:
