Even in Changing the laws. Say the law was changed so it was legal for people who were 15 to have sex. thats ok. But Then 14 year olds are only a year younger so that wouldnt be so bad. Thatd be ok surely? So we change the law so you can have sex with 14 year olds. thats ok. but 13 year olds, theyre ONLY a year younger, thats hardly much? that should be ok surely? so we make having sex with 13 year olds legal.
I do think that he was punished harshly, but i do think the courts must have had reason to feel that they had to do so.
Maybe a regulation of the laws is needed.. could even make it more like the Canadians close age peer group aproach... but the change needs to be done at the right time for the right reasons rather than just letting people slip through who are breaking current laws.

There's such a thing as a grace period most states have to avoid the ridiculous situation this article describes: the age of consent for anyone older, in their 20s or 30s and above, is 18, 17 in some states.

Our government victimizes it's people. Just a few years ago we sent gays to prison. Rescently muslims were arrested on an airplane because they said Saddam was doing a good job running Iraq and Bush is doing a horrible job. They were arrested, accused of terrorism, and are now on a no fly list. We allow millions of people to suffer, by not funding embryonic stem cell research, and why? for religous reasons. Our government expects people to die for a religous belief.

On torturing our own people? If you stop a person from eating, and it causes them to die, then you are killing them. If you stop a person from treating their illness with medical marijuna, and it causes them extreme agony, then you are torturing them.

In America, we execute people, torture people, oppress people, and this sentence against that boy is just another example of the government committing an atrocity in the spirit of false justice.

of course not. it makes prefect sense.
it's just people are so afraid of sex that they'd rather believe that their daughter was a "victim" than to think of her as a willing participant.

nope no problems. It all just needs to be set in stone exactly what the grace period is and for what years it does/doesnt apply. (tho forgive me if it actually is.. im not up to date on my American laws... in England, if you get a 14 year old pregnant you get a free house and benefits... yay)

That's why I love that it was oral sex.
This isn't like where the dude is really inflicting himself on someone and the girl didn't realize what she had gotten herself into.
He was probably just sitting there while she went at it, with gusto.....and, performing an act, the nature of which ensures that she intended to bring him great physical/sexual pleasure while receiving very little if any physical pleasure herself.

- Defacing ones property requries you repay them with indentured servitude for a year(slavery).
- Jay walking on Sunday is punishable by actually hobbling the individual guilty of the crime.


There are laws in my state that demands that her family give him a dowry, and provide 20 acres of land as they are now officially married. And since they are officially married, if anything she said was used as testimony to convict him then the case should be thrown out because a wife cannot testify against her husband.

There's always bigger issues when you're the one that got caught. Before I ever got my first speeding ticket, I was all gung ho about the law. As soon as that first cop pulled me over my mindset has been, "they could be out catching rapists and muggers isntead of pulling me over for this."
