about Fallout 3 I noticed there are a lot of hatred for Elder Owyn Lyons and his Brotherhood from what I understand The old fans just want all division of The Brotherhood to be like every division only cares about Technology

When in fact it makes sense for their to be multiple chapters of the Brotherhood, some of whom may have radical idea's including dumping the codex in the garbage. Imagine if Elijah had half a brain, we'd be dealing with Enclave 2.0.There is no high council of Brotherhood Elders, no one checks on the individual chapters. Not to mention, even the Mohave Chapter can be turned into somewhat like the DC chapter with them patrolling the I-15 and all
For all their talk, they are only human.

Problem is, Bethesda writing is simple, boring, black/white and almost disney-ish. It's too safe.

I wouldn't say that their writing is simple and boring...they just rather straightforward with the way they tell a story.

Ideally, IMO,they should get Obsidian writers for FO4, since Obsidian got better writers, and let Beth handle the technical aspects of the game.

More story lines where no matter how you go about it, you still come out like you had to lop off a piece of your soul.

I never played the series, but I seem to recall in one of the Fable games there was a quest where you could choose whether or not to save a little girl (Fable fans, correct me if I get this wrong!). If you let her die, that sucks because a little girl died. But if you let her live the player's character ended up with a huge irremovable scar for the remainder of the game. Whether or not I'm remember that exactly doesn't matter too much, the point is I thought that was a really neat feature.

Quests like the one from Fable there would be great, where actual change that effects the player can occur. Imagine a choice where there both options were terrible, say one choice ended up with you losing a hand for the rest of the game -now you can only use one handed weapons -or maybe get a mechanical hand! Of course it needn't necessarily be physical disfigurements, it could be any number of things. Losing a follower, changing a perk, destroying the players house if they have one.

Hopefully we'll see a lot more things like this in games in general as the choice systems become increasingly advanced. Let's also hope that Bethesda gets wind of it and incorporates it into Fallout 4.

Damn!...the potential if they handle this right is huge!

According to the document:

For: Entertainment services in the nature of an on-going television program set in a post-nuclear apocalyptic world

I HOPE it won't be an animated show. Use the Skyrim money, Bethesda!

Though i'm guessing that this is just for trademark protection stuff, IF they decide that they wanna do a Fallout TV series one day, or if somebody comes up with the same concept in the future.

Yet there was that cryptic message from Three Dog...

This is my thinking as well.

Honestly, I think Fallout is maybe a little too out there to make a successful television show out of. Though I wonder if things like web series are covered by this? I could potentially see them doing a live action web series building up to either the Fallout 4 announcement or release. They did that live action commercial for Fallout 3 after all.

Any recent news on FO4? I'm a greedy little pig when it comes to FO. When I got FO3 and FO:NV my friends lost me for 3 months each.

As long as it does not shorten the single player campaign/content, I will be fine with it.

I'll second that. Drop In/Drop Out play would be pretty sweet, as long as it doesn't take anything away from the single player experience.

Drop in/drop out play would be amazing. I've always wanted to have mini nuke shoot outs with friends.

Make it on the same idea as Dead Space 3 and it should work fine. Although something should be setup for weapons if you want to share. I'd hate for Pushy to vanish from my game if I loaned it to my friend. I love that one.

This is the only game that would make me get a new gen system. I can't think of a single other one that would make me do so except possibly a new ES game but out of the three I've played I've only enjoyed Skyrim anywhere near the same as Fallout because it was like Fallout.

I can imagine it being sort of like Borderlands

Hopefully better than Borderlands. Borderlands is not ideal for a Fallout game. The host player needs to be able to still make the decisions his character would make.

At least they are going to be pulling what gearbox did with Aliens CM.

I hope the final product does not resemble Colonial Marines, in terms of quality.

NMA is scum.

This isn't very fair. Have any of you actually played Fallout 1 or 2? What if someone took your favorite RPG series and turned it into a broken poorly written mess? I think you'd be bitter about it too especially after having to endure BOS in PS2.

^^Just because FO3 is different than FO1 and 2 doesn't make it a 'broken, poorly written mess'
And i tend to agree with Soapy...NMA IS scum!

Well FO3 was broken. I wouldn't say a poorly written mess though
