So do I..but it's not BC yet. So I'm hopeful that if this can be played before 4, which I have no idea why it wouldn't be, the digital version is either insta BC or basically the XB1 version of the game.

I was wondering if we'd see any recurring story points from 3 or NV in 4. I'd like to see some hints about what happened like mentioning about DC becoming less of a wasteland due to the water or something about Ceasers Legion going to pieces.

We'll probably see some of the android characters, and The Commonwealth. I also hope they mention how the Capital's version of the Brotherhood went off the rails.

So I've been trying to complete all the DLC trophies for Skyrim, and I noticed that Hearthfire pretty much seems like a test run for the Village crafting that will be in Fallout 4.

I really like when studios put out DLC that serves as a precursor of something they are looking to add into their next game.

Except this time...

With lazers! *Pew Pew*

I hope they take other elements too, like being able to have a family, etc (though I guess that one depends on FO4's story). Hearthfire was a great add-on for people who love the RPG elements.

Managing a family and watching them grow up would be interesting.

"Screw you Dad, I'm going to join a raider gang and nothing you can do will stop me!"
"Oh yeah?" *Murders raider band* "Now go to your room. You're grounded!"

Taking your kids out to train them with firearms would be interesting. Little Timmy's first Mini-nuke. *Sniff* They grow up so fast.

Fallout 4 : Voice Over Work is HUGE -- Testament to a Well-Kept Secret

Posted Jul 17, 2015

In a new interview at Britain's The Telegraph, Todd Howard reveals that over 13,000 lines of Fallout 4 dialog have been recorded in the last couple of years. Not only is that indicative of the level of "secrecy" that the project embodied, but also the massive size of the game itself, particularly with regard to player choices.
Given this era of big budget blockbusters, motion capture and lavish cutscenes, it’s unusual that a voiced player-character can cause such a stir. The concern with Fallout is that your conversation with the wasteland’s denizens will be limited. “We had the same worry as everyone else,” admits Howard.
“A lot of games have voiced characters, but what they don’t want to give up is all the dialogue options. So for us a lot of it was logistical. The voice actors have been recording for 2 years, they’ve each done over 13,000 lines of dialogue. So to be able to do that makes the difference; you still have choice.
”
The interview is a great read and worth the time to head to the link above to check out.

I think I heard somewhere that Skills (outside of S.P.E.C.I.A.L.) are a thing of the past. Wonder what that'll mean for progression and how the character will evolve now.

I'm sure it'll cut down on the grinding that I seem to be running into in New Vegas. I need a 100 lockpick to get a thingy from a vault and I'm level 32 or 33 at the moment. I'm literally going around to all of the villified factions and scrubbing all of the hostile NPCs clean in hopes of scraping together enough XP to get to the next level and push my Lockpick more.

Without that, I wonder if that'll make for a shorter experience in 4. Guess it'll come down to the replay value that settlement building will add to the game.

I really want them to release more info on the PC version. They said it won't have limits...so I know the FPS will be above 60 but what else...higher res textures? MOst likely...but other than that?

There is an article about that on GI's site, and everyone loses their mind in the comments (because Bethesda is supposedly dumbing down Fallout now). I am a bit concerned, because skills have been a staple of the Fallout series since its inception, but hopefully Bethesda might be onto something. To quote Bonnie from RDR: "change is only good if it makes things better."

I don't worry about anything Bethesda does. Go back a few years and everyone was hating on Fallout 3 because it wasn't Fallout 1 or 2 and Bethesda changed "too much.." People called it future Elder Scrolls, etc.

Now people hold it in extreme high regard (as they should) but seriously, nothing Bethesda has ever done made me question them.

...well, maybe Oblivion Gates.. But other than that..
