Loki has become unpredictable at this point. Who knows what he's thinking?
I really do love that about him. Such a snake.

Loki already gave Thanos [BLACKOUT]the Aether[/BLACKOUT] most likely.
The Collector has the Aether unless you're assuming the Collector work for Thanos?

I think he's saying they are the same person.

I am saying I think the Collector is attached to Thanos. Either he is Thanos in disguise or working for him. He could be collecting the stones to keep them from Thanos, but I don't think so yet.Huh? We just saw the Collector get the Aether. Unless you're saying that you think it was another Loki trick.

I very much believe the Collector is a real character. He just might not be alive anymore.I think that theory went by the wayside when we saw Warlock's cocoon in the background of Tivan's lab. He's definitely The Collector. He's either working for or against Thanos ..... but they're not the same person.

I think he will eventually meet his demise with Thanos in Avengers 3 most likely.

Not necessarily. If he is Thanos, he could just be keeping a close eye on the cocoon. Maybe it's in some kind of stasis and keeping Warlock from coming out of it.
Right ... he's going to be this big menace all throughout the galaxies, sitting atop his throne ordering legions to fight where he sees fit, while also keeping a secret identity of The Collector, equipped with a lab and lab assistants.
No.
People are still trying too hard to Iron Man 3 the rest of the MCU. He's his own character and he's doing everything he did in the comics .... collect artifacts and heroes. The question is why? Which side is he on?
Giving it more thought, I doubt the Collector is Thanos. If Alexander Pierce in TWS is actually a villain in disguise, then the Collector being Thanos in disguise would be too repetitive.
When Guardians of the Galaxy was announced, I was hoping that Thanos would kill them all and win in the end, getting the stones, placing them in the gauntlet and heading for earth. That is obviously not going to happen...but I'm still holding out hope that he defeats the Guardians and spends Phase 3 getting the rest of the stones.
In fact...Loki is such a popular and cool character that I'd be fine with Thanos being a middle-tier villain, with Loki being the one who assembled all of the pieces for an Avengers 3 or 4 showdown.
Again, look at the genesis of why some are creating that theory ..... IM3.
Why did they go that route in IM3? Because they considered the Mandarin too offensive to a big demographic so they had to craft the character in a new way, one which made a helluva lot of sense and worked on every level if you're not a hardcore comic book purist.
They do not have those problems with The Collector ...... and yes the constant "he's in disguise" crap would get old.
Yep, I wonder if it is complete misdirection that will also flow into the film. We could see three factions with the same intentions (The Guardians, Ronan, and The Collector) unwittingly fighting each other with Thanos overseeing it all.Now that would be something...I actually want to see that in TA3 now. Despite the fact that the thought of Loki dying saddens me.
Yeah, could be. Or maybe the sinister tone to the Collector is indeed misdirection, and he's trying to stop Thanos.
Either way is incredibly interesting to me.

That is Ophelia Lovibond, an while her character has only been described as an aide to the Collector, I doubt she ends up being Mantis.Does anyone think the green chick we saw in the Collector's collection could've possibly been Mantis?
