^Isnt Thor very serious in the comics though? The ones I have read with him in he wasnt cracking jokes at any point.

You've been reading the rubbish ones. Some writers wnt to make Thor Lord of the Rings or myth Thor but he isn't. It can be funny. Go read Thor: The Mighty Avenger

I thought it was because of plot related reasons (i.e. Stonehenge) and the fact that Marvel needed a place which could possibly pose a realistic response time issue for SHIELD.

Eh, it really doesn't play into the films plot all that much. Although the SHIELD thing makes sense I guess.

But in the MCU SHIELD is suppose to be an international organisation so they should have UK bases... :hmm

Oh yeah.....well with Jenny Augutta being on the WC in The Avengers and it saying United Kingdom on her screen I'd say the UK is on the WC....

For those who have seen the movie. Is this [BLACKOUT]Algrim's transformation scene?[/BLACKOUT]

Is there a post credit scene?
If so I hope it is better than the IM3 one.

Thx

Praised to high heaven and with good reason imo. Aja won two Eisner Awards for his work on the book. One for "Best Artist" (interior work), the other for "Best Cover Artist".

Like all great comics the art is as much a part of the storytelling as the writing. Even the stand-in artist have been great, and the Annual was terrific imo.

I absolutely love the new Hawkeye book, and love Aja's art in it, but I can see how some people might not get along with it.

it's very stylized and I'm glad that Marvel is running more books that are completely allowed to have a personality like this.

but just as much, it's true that anything like that, is going to disagree with some people at the level where they aren't going to want to read it. which makes sense.

i really don't like when people say things like Aja, or Quitely or Allred suck tho, like trying to say any kid in high school can draw like that. then it crosses a line where sometimes it starts to bug me.

i never seen Aja talked like about that tho. one of the things, is it can come off kind of impenetrable to some people cuz there's not a lot of movement in how he does things. purposefully, of course. or maybe it's more true to say that he does incorporate a lot of movement, but your eyes aren't drawn to any entrance point. this can come off as sort of monotonous or give some people a feeling of looseness or messiness, i think.

i love him tho, just saying..

edit: also I agree, I loved the art on the annual too.

The film was good, but I like the first one much more. TDW lacked heart and charm of the first film.

But I've got to say, the final battle with Malekith was quite impressive. Properly the best "boss" fight among all the Marvel Studios solo films.

I really loved TDW. I honestly enjoyed the first one and I still do but to me TDW was more what I wanted in a Thor film.

The action was much better, more Asgard scenes. The set pieces looked better and I loved how more of the characters on Asgard got more screen time i.e. Heimdell.

I heard a couple of complaints that it's not very funny and quite serious compared to the first one but I disagree. I thought there were hilarious parts of this film but it was balanced well. More so than with Iron Man 3 I'm afraid.

Also I loved

[BLACKOUT]The set up for Guardians of the Galaxy! Infinity stones YES!!![/BLACKOUT]

I would probably rate this a 8.5/10 easily one of my favourites in the MCU

At the moment I would rate them as follows

1. Avengers
2. Iron Man
3. Thor: Dark World
4. Captain America: First Avenger
5. Iron Man 2
6. Thor
7. Iron Man 3
8. The Incredible Hulk

My turn.

Just one word....wow.

Its so much better than IM3 & MOS (coming from a huge ironman fan).

8.5/10 for me.

Enjoyed TDW more on second viewing.

Even though I really liked the way they fought through the different realms I still felt that final section of the movie was choppy and could have held together better. Still surprised that Thor was completely ineffective against Kurse. Durable, yes, but he had no comeback. Script is very very average.

The attack on Asgard was great. Can't get enough of Heimdall, Hemsworth is looking unbelievably scrumptious and I liked this Fandrall way more than the first one.

Saw it Friday night and I absolutely loved it.

Better than the first film imo and a great sequel. The stakes were higher, the characters were mostly brilliant though I felt Malekith could have been developed slightly more.

Loki was just utter class as usual.

Loved the plot and the balance of action and story.

I'd give it 8.5/10, thoroughly enjoyed it!

As for the ending, WTF man, Loki is on the throne!!!!!!!!!! I have to see Thor 3 NOW!

Also, The Collector!!!! Can't wait for Guardians of the Galaxy, I'm sure we will hear more about the Infinity Gems and Thanos in that!

They are an international organisation that's still bound by international and domestic laws (with acceptations).

Makes since. Kurse is suppose to be one of those type of villains. He's kind of like the Juggernaut in away. They are both created by a Uber god like beings (comic)/ uber god relic in the film and turn into an Unstoppable force.

I'm sure this has been answered already, but...

What is the fate of Malekith, Kurse and the Dark Elves by the end of the film? Are they all just outright killed? Do they escape? Or is it a gray "Red Skull" area in-between?

I love how inventive yet – in it's own context – so credible all the cosmic and magical stuff was/felt in this. Well crafted all around in that department.

That, along with the great mid-credit scene, actually makes me long even more for Guardians of the Galaxy, with more full-on cosmic stuff.

good to see the trolling has subsided a bit

Absolutely loved the film, more than the first and probably my second favourite Marvel movie after The Avengers. 'Thor' was a great movie and I loved everything about it at the time but after seeing TDW I'm in love with what's been done to the Asgardian culture. The detail on the armour, the architecture and the general look of the characters was far better IMO, I'm eager to see more!

now where is whedon bashing the movie because of the one mjolnir joke?
anyhow...************** a 10...a scifi action movie for others id say a 8 of 10
