Can we reopen the voting pole please...
It just opened here in the states so why can't we have the opportunity to cast our votes like everyone else?...

Why is it closed on the day of the NA premiere? Makes no sense.

Just don't close a freaking poll until the movie has been out for a month or so everywhere lol

I have seen it twice now. I like it, but I wish I loved it.

The movie feels so truncated. Like you took this very large film, and cut out a lot of the interesting character bits and turned a large film into something smaller. It lesser the impact of the entire moment.

The Good
- Loki. Fantastic and perhaps the one character to get a real arc. It too feels on the short end, but there is something to really hold on to.

- The visuals. Taylor did a fantastic job in general. Everything feels more weighty and real.

- The added effect to the Asgardian weapons was a great idea and worked so well.

- The battle scenes. Thor still moves a bit slow for my liking, but overall it was a big improvement.

- Every moment Sif, Volstagg and Fandral were on screen. It wasn't much, but they killed it. They even got a Volstagg girth joke in. :D

- Darcy's Darcyness. :funny:

- Stonehenge. :lmao:

- Jane's reaction on the soul forge.

- Space Hammer.

The Bad
- The comedy was good, until the final battle, where a lot of it just feels inappropriate. You can't build up this moment as important and then just beat it down with joke after joke.

- It isn't that there is too much Darcy. She is great. It is that everyone else is so reduced.

- So Thor loses his mother and Brother inside a couple of days, and he seems to not care one bit? :sigh:

- Tease Sif and Jane tension, do nothing with it.

- Kill Frigga after not really getting to know her, and then play it up like it was the death of Princess Leia.

- The green screen for the finale of the climax. What the hell happened? The entire film looked great, and then bam!, horror.

The Hilarious
- Thor running towards Malekith at the end. He looked like he was cosplaying.

The poll automatically closes when the automated system creates the new thread. They can do nothing about it.

I had no idea WTF was going on during that mid-credit sequence.

My best guess, thanks to a quick run through of the Wikipedia page on [BLACKOUT]The Collector[/BLACKOUT]:
I'm guessing rather than actual gems the items to power the infinity gauntlet are powerful items. So the Tesseract is one, and the Aether was another. Asgard already has the Tesseract so they brought it to The Collector, a character known for collecting items and species to keep for later in case a major catastrophe should come to the universe, for safe keeping. In comics I guess his allegiances have switched around a few times, so his comment on 5 more, relating to the other Infinity Gems, might mean he has something to do with Thanos. In other words, I'm guessing this is more an Guardians of the Galaxy/ Avengers 3 tease more than anything else.
Thank you because this was me as well. The only thing I recognized was Bencio del Toro under all that make up as the Collector and that he looked like he was stoned. Other than that, I was completely clueless. :p

The mid credits scene was pretty straight forward.

Not to someone who is primarily an X-men fan. I know I read Infinity Gauntlet ages ago but I hardly remember it. I can get that they are setting something up but other than, I had no clue who the Collector was or anything.

Yeah for some reason Marvel has really been lacking with the post credit scenes in Phase Two. There are no geek out moments that really got you excited for the next film in line. I'm confident that Cap's post credit sequence will be awesome though.

The mid-credit scene, I dig it. I adored Sif and Volstagg's reaction. The final scene however I feel should have ended the film before the credits.

I have read 0 comics featuring Thor or Thanos, and I'm a Spiderman guy. It was straight forward.

2 infinity stones are dangerous when close together as was said so they gave it to The Collector. Him saying one down 5 more to go clearly means that he has a use for all 6 of them. Simple.

I give this a 8/10 because of Thor and Loki. It had an awful, boring, generic story, awful villains. But Thor and Loki were great and when they were together it was even better. Waay too much comedy and the final battle dragged on for way too long and just became how many jokes can we do with this Jumper like fight scene. Thor being stuck in a subway is some of the worst writing I've ever seen and its just atrocious. Ugh just awful. It's a light, periodically fun with no consequences. They be building a cinematic universe but its a sitcom universe. Nothing that happens in each episode matters after its over. 8/10 for now but it could drop to 7/10. I'd say probably my favorite Marvel Studios film though, close with The Avengers and Thor 1. Oh yeah and the mid credits scene, yeah I thought it was cool, was hoping for Rocket Raccoon though

With a story with such potential, they really made it generic and like it was an average day in Asgard.

But yeah, Loki, so awesome. The brother moments were top class again. I am sad though that Loki didn't turn himself into Sif. Would have been a perfect comic call back.

Stopped reading after they be building.

The Cap movie itself sure looks good. I saw the Winter Soldier promo with Thor and it I admit it tempted me. I'm not a huge Cap fan and I was so/so with the last film but this looks interesting. :)

Yeah, I've always thought of Cap as being a boring character, this trailer alone akes me want to read some of his comics.

I know Winter Soldier only as he has impacted Wolverine which obviously has nothing to do with this movie so I at least wouldn't have any preconceived notions about him, lol. :p

I mean Cap has an interesting origin, it's just that his second most known storyline is from decades after he was created, so I've never been in a rush to really check him out.

Nothing that happens in each movie matters after its over? I don't agree with that. Iron man 3 and Thor 2 both dealt with the after effects of the avengers movie.

just caught the movie
overall a solid 9/10
it is really hard to top the first Thor considering it has the whole Thor losing his power going for it,
but Malekith, Kurse, Loki really made this movie as good as the first one.

Pros:
-Loki was far better utilized and showed a lot of his emotional side
-Thor/Loki Banter
-Kurse!! (loved that he is much stronger than Thor and beat him into pulp)
-Frigga was great even for the short time she was in the movie
-Warriors 3 had better roles compared to the first movie
-Cap Cameo was hilarious
-The entire cast worked properly
-The humor was much better and properly placed than IM3

Cons:
-Thor doesn't twirl mjolnir mid combat, and only uses it for flight. There was far too much hammer throws, than hammer time.
-There are far less actual fights, and more of ships doing air combat.
-The set up time was a bit too long for the first half. tbh its when Thor recruits Loki is when the movie changes gear.
-As much as the Portal combat was intense and awesome, imo the jotenheim fight in the first movie is still unrivaled.
-unmemorable soundtrack
-pacing was a bit off
-I enjoyed the humor and didn't have any complaints at all, but after looking back some of the Darcy stuff at the climax should have been dialed back a bit.
i really liked the Thor teleporting to the subway and the scene following it, but i wished its placement could have been better.
-I don't like that Loki only has illusion, uncertain levels of mind-control magic, and knife fighting skills.
C'mon Marvel give him something more powerful and magical, like force fields and better projectiles.

Also it was cute that Frigga can do Loki's illusion, really tells how much they spend time with each other, especially with Loki's condition in the cell after her death.
I am so excited for future Marvel movies, at least they are keeping it consistent and my body is read for winter soldier.
