I've no idea. I know it was a fugly creature as well. It made me think that the phrase "Love is blind." HAS to be true because of how ugly it was. Of course, initially I thought it had to do with Katar and Shiera's crystallized bodies and then maybe some other thing........so right now I'm more confused than anything about what the heck exactly powers the Star Sapphire's and who their Avatar is (hopefully not a frisky malfunctioning Tickle Me, Elmo).

I believe the man in the costume is the avatar of the entity. Like Hal Jordan was the avatar of Parallax and Kyle Raner was the avatar of Ion.

It's Johnscomic, so yeah I just assume that any new character is some random jerk villain who showed up in a comic for three panels in 1963 or whatever.

Like I said, it's Carol's "male side" that split off of her. He lasted for a few issues when John was GL and Hal was depowered but still wanted to pursue some hero-ish action. I remember him using a jet pack and stuff. Predator beat the stuffing out of him, though. I never got the whole "story arc" so I didn't see the reveal and fallout of it, though. That's why I'm so curious, I wanna see who he is now.
