At the same time though there was a review thread here and 4 people voted the movie as a 1 before even seeing it, so its not like just people who like the movie are doing that ****. Personally I think it's pointless either way.

Early twitta reactions can never be trusted. Even Green Lantern got those adjectives with the first wave of twitta reactions.

Speaking of this, where are they? You'd think that would be first page on these site good or bad.

I guess they have a point, saying something is closer to 2 hours with the credits as opposed to the actual movie which is closer to an hour and a half.

I guess technically 106 minutes is closer to 2 hours than 90 minutes, but that's as short as just about any film you'll ever see. So to say it's close to 2 hours may be technically correct, but to not call that 'short' isn't correct.

It must have felt longer than it was - that's what happens when a film is boring.

Not me. I've said in the past this might be a good film, but just not a good 'Fantastic Four' film, as there is too much changed up from the books for me personally.

Now the critics will (or should at any rate) be judging it as a film on it's own merits, not as I and some others may as long time 616 fans who would prefer something a lot more faithful. Should the critics decide it's a good film I have no problem accepting that. They liked it, end of story.

Same goes for the GA if they make it a box office success. If they like it they like it. Their time, their dime.

But for me, it's just not my cup of tea.

Not me. I've said in the past this might be a good film, but just not a good 'Fantastic Four' film, as there is too much changed up from the books for me personally.

I have two problems with this film:

1. It looks NOTHING like Fantastic Four.

2. It looks like a dull, boring, cliche film and the puberty theme sounds like one of the worst ideas ever to me.

But I will see it if it gets a Rotten Tomatoes score of 85 or better. If real critics believe it to be that good of a film, that will pique my interest and I'll give it a try.

but based on everything I know and have seen, I will be absolutely AMAZED if this gets 85 or better.

We have had over the past few months an enormous amount of arguing between those that are excited for this movie and those that are not.

The Hype is a place for ENJOYMENT for everyone, whether there is a difference of opinions or not.

This particular forum has not been a place of enjoyment, at all.

So, in light of this, there is now a thread SPECIFICALLY FOR those that are not happy with what they have seen and heard about the upcoming Fantastic Four Movie. That is their thread to make their petition known that they are not happy. If you are one of those people that is very excited for this movie, THAT IS NOT YOUR THREAD.

As for the rest of the forum, it is open for discussion of the movie, as long as

1. It stays a discussion about the movie, cast, etc.
2. If you have a strong opinion that is on the negative side, it would probably fit much better in the FFINO Zone thread, lets take it there. This is not to say that this is the ONLY negative thread, opinions can be posted in any thread, but if the opinion is a joke, rights going back to Marvel, or any of the things below...it needs to stay in the FFINO Thread. Negative opinions are perfectly fine, not everyone is going to like this movie, but if they disrupt the flow of the thread then they will be removed.
3. I do not want to see any arguments over Foxverse vs. MCU, DC vs. Marvel, who is a troll and who isn't, who is a true fan and who isn't...all of these arguments have derailed EVERY thread in this forum and that will stop.

If there is a problem with any of these rules and they are not adhered to, that poster will receive a 3 week vacation from the hype.

Yeah this is a great point. It is eyebrow raising that the film is so short after the extensive reshoots and the fact that CBMs with such a short run time that are actually good represent a very small percentage (the first X-Men released 15 years ago and Dredd a critical success but a financial failure) BUT categorically speaking as a film it's no indicator of quality. It will be interesting to see whether this film ranks as an outlier or part of the norm in this respect.
