Seems like Kinberg had faith in Trank (not surprising, he seemed like an up-and-coming talent) and then had to grin and bear it for promotional purposes until the inevitable cat got out of the bag. Not an enviable position.

I heard nothing but silence at my showing. They only came to life for Antman. LOL

I watched AoU today, there were trailers for Jurasic World, Star Wars, Fantastic Four, a Ben Kingsly/Ryan Reynolds movie, Ant-Man, and several others I can't think of at the moment....the only one that got any reaction (and it was a good one) was Ant-Man....I did not expect that at all.

I was the only one that didn't get Star Wars. :csad:

And yeah, people cracked up over Ant-Man at my showing as well. They also liked Tomorrowland. Nothing else got a reaction, not even BvS.

Everyone started whispering when they showed BvS trailer at my theatre. Couldn't tell if it was a positive or negative reaction though.

Star Wars didn't show at my theatre. Ant-Man did, and the audience chuckled at the train scene toward the end.

Discussing the situation does not mean that one is celebrating Trank's issues. It's a super duper interesting story.

Yeah I had to calm down. I don't like when people deny obvious baiting but I will let it go and get back to the topic at hand.
Ah, the topic on hand:

All I know is the BvS trailer on the big screen jettisoned most of my fears. It was glorious.

I thought that the FF trailer was good as well. Though I feel like the Thing moment just fell flat. Especially when I was about to see the Hulk rip things up again on the big screen. It looked and felt so cheap in comparison.

Yeah the whole "guy jumps out of a plane and lands unharmed" schtick has already been featured in Captain America: Winter Soldier, the new Terminator trailer, etc. There's not a shot in the FF trailer that inspires awe or comes off as anything but generic.

Everybody knows that I'm not a CGI person, meaning that I don't complain about CGI 95% of the time, but I thought the Thing did look kinda cheap. I'm not saying that it's syfy level and that the film will be doomed because of it but those are my feelings on his CGI.

While the destruction is pretty bad, it doesn't appear to be from drug induced incidents. Though how they caused that much damage is baffling.

I'm still interested in the movie. I've liked what I've seen so far, and I don't particularly care about the production drama. Though, I do hope Trank straightens out his issues. It would be a great waste of talent.

My not particularly informed but reasonable enough guess is that they tore up some wood (flooring, for example, which can be quite expensive and is definitely capable ofbeing destroyed by dogs). Could also be furniture damage. Furniture costs a LOT if you're not just grabbing the IKEA specials.

Yeah I'm with you i still like how its shaping up and if true he should get help.

I actually liked quite a few shots. Many of the siblings. Sue and her forcefield and Johnny flying across the sky. I also really like the pre-test shots of Reed and Ben.

Shame on the people celebrating or laughing at this drug fuelled self destruction because they either feel vindicated for hating the movie from the start of because it fits in some sort of fantasy about the rights reverting back. It's just a movie. I hope Trank gets help.

How is the rights reverting to Marvel a fantasy? FOX has confirmed that they are negotiating for TV rights, so the studio is going to have to give up something of value. The FF may be worth a whole lot less than when they landed the franchise, but it still has value to Marvel.

I personally think Kinberg "borrowed" that from the unused Juggernaut scene planned for DoFP.

He looks like a generic enchanted Rock monster. A really bad version of the guardians in Noah.

At this point, I think it is safe to say, if this movie works at all it is down to the casting and Kinberg cleaning up this mess. Trank isn't getting any credit now, and probably wouldn't deserve any.

He looks just like the rock monster from Thor: TDW.
Not quite, but I see what you are saying. He reminds me of the classic fantasy idea of a pile of rocks come to life. They roll together to form a being.

Hmm, I have not watched Noah because I'm not interested in it. I might have seen the Rock monsters but I can't recall how they look from memory. I'll go look them eventually.

Fox just moved another movie (the new Hitman) to two weeks after Fant4stic. Looks like they know this movie won't have legs.

**** it really is one bad sign after another, isn't it?

The news for this film is like a slow motion train wreck.
