Just a reminder to everyone to take this dony guys reports with a grain of salt. We have no confirmation of any screenings I'm Israel, we know he's wrong about the embargo, and he's way off on the films run time.

We'll know in a week. Call me gullible, but I like to believe people unless I have good reason to think otherwise.

I'll give him/her the benefit of the doubt. If it's all BS, oh well, no harm done.

If real, it would be interesting to know some of these details.

wasn't it said they wanted the fantastic four to stand on their own? they have a way to cross them over if they felt like it though

The issue is that if no X-Men references were present, it's possible such a crossover really can't happen without Marvel's consent, like that X-Men television show. If no Mutant references are present, that supposed crossover between FF and X-Men may not even be a contractually allowed possibility.

Actually, it is a possibility. Think about Deadpool. That's a different contract and license than the X-Men one, yet they were able to insert Deadpool into X-Men Origins and are putting Colossus in Deadpool.

Presumably Deadpool was folded into the X-Men deal later. That happened with Silver Surfer, who actually had a completely unaffiliated with FF film in development on multiple occasions.

Deadpool is part of the X-Men contract as far as I'm aware, and has been for a while. The Deadpool and Cable comics were big back then when the contracts were being done so there is precedent.

As far as F4 and X-Men, the Contracts were done entirely separate with different terms, conditions and fees. Basic contract law says this prevents ant crossing over.

Unless Marvel gave them permission before the big schism, which they may have.

If I were to bet on one side or another, I would say they can't cross them over. But that isn't certain by any means based on the knowledge we have.

With Deadpool it may be that the X-Men film rights give Fox first choice on any X-Men related characters, so if the Deadpool rights had reverted Fox could have made a claim and pulled the character into their X-Men rights (however non-X-men characters that were part of the Deadpool film rights wouldn't have been pulled in which could explain why Marvel seems to have Taskmaster while he was supposed to have been a part of the Deadpool film rights package at one point).

He also has a history of bsing on this site.

Well that settles it for me. This is why I never believe any "My (insert relative) is a reporter/company employee so I saw it early, ask me anything" threads.

My view is if they're above board then it's all good, but if they're trolling for giggles then they'll enjoy their forthcoming ban.

what if they didn't create this film to be part of the same universe though? or is that an impossible possibility?

in the end they have a way to do it if they wanted too without needing to be in the same universe

An Easter egg doesn't mean they are in the same universe. Millar, Kinberg and Singer have been teasing a crossover for years, so it says something that they aren't willing to even scootch a teeny bit off of the pot.

What sorta easter egg could they do if they ain't in the same universe though? seems like something that could be a little forced

i know fox have not officially said a cross over will happen so either way there is more going on behind the scenes but whether thats down to the contract issues or them not being sure if it would be worth crossing them over is another matter

Well didn't X-Men 2 have a Fantastic Four Easter egg?

Well didn't X-Men 2 have a Fantastic Four Easter egg?

would you have noticed that in your first viewing? and also if they already made a decision to not have them in the same universe then an easter egg similar to that wouldn't help much

edit, we will find out soon enough if Dony is real or not.

I don't think I've done it before, but this is basically why I am more inclined to believe that they cannot rather than they can cross them over, although like I've said many times we really do not know either way.

1. The default scenario is that they can't because they are two seperate contracts. The terms of a crossover would have had to have been written into the contracts either when they were first written or as an addition at a later date. I'm always partial to going with the side that requires fewer steps if we have no other information.

2. They lost the Daredevil rights. If Fox could have crossed over their properties and retained their rights that way, such as putting the Hand in a Wolverine movie for example, why didn't they rather than let the rights go back to Marvel? Furthermore, The Wolverine is based on a story that has The Hand play a major role, yet in the film they are turned into some other generic ninja clan instead. Filming for The Wolverine began (July 2012) BEFORE Fox lost the Daredevil rights (October 2012). Similarily, the Fantastic Four play a role in the comic book version of Days of Future Past, but are nowhere to be seen in the film.

3. Fox has played very coy with their statements regarding a crossover. In particular, they say things like 'we would like to' or 'we want to' as opposed to 'we can' or 'we are going to.' That sounds awfully suspicious.

4. Fox has acted the exact same way regarding an X-Men television series, which we know requires Marvel's approval.

So I'm more inclined to believe they can't do a crossover without Marvel's approval than they can, but again, it is far from certain.

I don't even know what point you're trying to make here but to most peoples knowledge, to keep the rights they have to enter production on that character/properties film within a set number of years. Having the Hand in The Wolverine doesn't count as entering production on a Daredevil film.

By the way, I saw Mission: Impossible last night and I finally saw the 3rd trailer for this film

Yeah I got to see the trailer in my town's biggest theater and it was cool. I really hope there having showings of Fantastic Four in our biggest theaters, but we also have Irrational Man, Pixels and Retour à Ithaque opening all at the same date. <_> Worried the Pixels movie is getting the biggest theaters lol.

I got the comic con trailer for Fantastic Four when I went to see Ant-Man.

Look at that girl.

I've never wanted to be someone else's hand more than Mara's in that last pic.
