There seems to have been Atlanta screening, confirming what a lot of us have suspected for past months about the plot, quality and best and "worst" parts.

I'll post this in spoiler tags just incase:
There was a Fantastic Four screening last night in Atlanta. It should be ok as long as I don't get specific. It was miles better than the previous 2 and also better than Ant-Man and Ultron. Everyone has a believable scientific explanation for their powers.

In the end it, covered beneath all the played out superhero save the world beep is a story about friendship (Reed and Ben)and family (Susan and Johnny) and how the two are sometimes inseparable. Trank wasn't kidding when he said it was inspired by The Fly, because the best part of the film is the 2nd act where their lives are changed and because of that the 4 have to learn stick together and developed a bond (Reed/Ben didn't like Susan/Johnny in the 1st act). The 1st act was great too! Introducing each members giving us their childhood background story which were sweet and touching.

Aaaaaand the 3rd act reverted to an interdimensional slugfest between the F4 and Dr. Doom. Which is something u've seen in countless other superhero movies

The VFX is unpolished. Looks outdated.

The dialogue ranges from soul piercing to laugh out loud bad.

The performances were great. Toby Kebell killed it.

The cinematography and a cool blue color grading fits the film.

The film's best parts are not the action scenes but the emotional ones.

+ Another praise for Toby Kebell's Doom
+ Praise for the character interactions

The hype is becoming real! :ilv::hmr::mnm: I'm guessing critics will be harsh on the 3rd act [BLACKOUT]action slugfest, which is right because for the past years we had explosions where they all ended in massive CGI explotions, now we're having massive CGI battles, we need something new![/BLACKOUT]

Look at these rebels posting their reviews disregarding the embargo.

The poster's a fraud or whatever apparently.

I *thought* so, can't find it online at the mo. I'll have to check the dvd when I get home later. Hopefully I didn't lie to you.

I'm surprised that there are all these positive reactions to a film with so many production problems and a late embargo.

Isn't Latveria hinted at in the trailer? I think I read an article that speculated on a scene from the trailer.

If the 3rd acts look anything like it does in the trailers (it probably will), I'm sure the CG is going to be somewhat lackluster.
But this is sounding pretty in line with what I'm predicting. The likability of the cast will be what makes or breaks this movie.

Yes. There's a scene with Sue watching a computer screen with coordinates on it. If you plug the coordinates into Google it takes you directly to the Marvel wiki article for Latveria.

That's it.

I forgot I did that. Thanks for reminding me.

I think that text was added just for the trailer?

I wanted to know if it was mentioned by name in the film.

Probably because for the more part at the end of the day, people sitting in theater judge the film, not behind the scenes this or that or source or how late an embargo is lifted. Just what is in front of them. A joke is funny or it isn't. Doesn't all of a sudden stop being so because of an embargo..well at least for non critics anyways.
And again, production problems happen, from wwz to antman even, in some form or another, not always some death sentence.

better to wait until the reactions aren't coming from people with free tix to exclusive showings with the stars in attendance.

I'm encouraged from what I'm hearing, there is another premiere in New York I think. We should hear even more crowd reactions to this movie then.

The question is. Would the people that sees this for free & with the stars in attendance. Pay to see this again ?

it's likely just a fun easter egg... because it wouldn't make sense for those coordinates to be shown, but the maps don't indicate those coordinents at all

Yeah, I know. Like I said, it is just a hint for people who are in the know.

Not sure if they will bring it up in the movie.

For those of ya'll interested. Trank's second part interview with Kevin Smith is now up.

And there's 2 more to come awesome.

At the very least, X-2 referenced the Strucker Twins and Deadpool (when his rights were at Newline). It definitely got away with some stuff you may not see these days.
