I hope they make joker look much more realistic and don't go over the top with it. I'd even be happy if they left out the white skin, red lips and green hair altogether. That's not what makes The Joker who he is.

People are taking this whole realism thing into Nolan's films too seriously...I say go for the white skin, red lips, green hair (just really dark), and maybe somewhat of the nose/chin.

My GAWD! I will pretend I didn't just hear that. It will suck more then Batman & Robin if they do that, yeah, I said it!!! Without white skin, red lips, and green hair, it is not, I REPEAT NOT, THE JOKER!!! It's just another Hannibal type killer. Those are the things that define the Joker. Next you won't want Batman to wear a bat-suit. And while we're at it, Scarecrow should have never worn that potato sack at all. Him in the business suit was much more menacing.

This IS Batman and his universe you fool, not the real world. You'd never see anyone dressed as a bat fighting crime either. If it's in the comics and can't fit into the movies because of "realism" then Nolan is doing it entirely wrong, because if it's in the comics then it is apart of the BATMAN UNIVERSE. The movies should not be limited to such stupid ****. And if Nolan doesn't have Joker look like he should because of Realism then it's obvious that he's stuck in a realistic sense because he's not creative enough to think of anything better.

Atleast we still have a few good posters here who know what they are talking about. This realism thing is being taken too far. For all we know, when Nolan said that he could have meant "no superpowered villians" Joker MUST have white skin, red lips, and green hair(yeah dark green hair would be better). Or else I will not except this movie and everyone who knows anything about Batman will disown Nolan and the crap if they do that.

As I said in a previous post, White skin, red lips, and green hair IS The Joker. He atleast needs those qualities. Nose and chin are not absolutely needed like for Nicholson. I really don't think Nolan would be stupid enough to take away all of Joker's physical and facial features despite not wanting Crane to wear a mask. But hopefully his brother knows about Batman and is a good writer. Thank God some of you people aren't working on this movie.

I agree that Joker has should definately have the white skin, green hair, and red lips. There was speculation going around that Joker might just have white skin and actually use make-up to give himself the really red lips, and I don't mind that too much either, as long as he has them. The look of the Joker is a very important aspect of the character, it isn't just there to create a cool visual, and I am sure Nolan and Co. know this and will incorporate it into the next film.

I'm kind of iffy on prosthetics. I wouldn't mind some prosthetics, but nothing very obvious. If they use prosthetics on the nose for example, I would want it to be a little pointy, but still realistic looking, like it could be his real nose.

Yeah. I want people who haven't seen this guy to not even realize there are prosthetics. People should not think "there's no way that's his real nose and chin". He's not the Penguin and he's not Jay Leno.

A psychotic who does not resemble the Joker archetype is not The Joker. Having said that, Nolan would be wise to avoid the DE and PatientJ look—or the Nicholson look for that matter—but this:

i agree, if they go over the top with joker, then he will simply not fit in. He will stand out way to much. However, he still needs white skin, green hair, the pointy nose (cough-adrian brody-cough)etc. But Yeah the patient J look would not work.

I agree more on Hulme than bettany, he's got more of the look(much more than bettany)but i don't know how well he can play the role of Joker. However Brody still looks the most like the joker
