Fantastic Four Animated Series Discussion

I think the show is ok. As epsiodes pass it gets better imo. I thought Doomsday showed that. We saw a bit more action and it definetly left me waiting for this weekend. Question though, who do you all think can gues star? I think there is a lot of people from the FF mythos that can show up. My list would be:

Namor the Sub-Mariner
Galactus
Silver Surfer
Iron Man
She-Hulk
The Hulk
Captain America?
Thanos
Mole Man
Maybe some of the X-men?

Just some to name a few. Namor would be a most simply because he has history with the FF. So him showing up, i would, should not be questioned. Those who know, he did make his appearance in the first few issues.

I would think a episode with him would be about the FF going on a deep sea adventure and they run in to the world of Atlantis.

Just an idea.....What do you guys think?

Any of these would be great!

Also hoping to see The Black Panther.

is there anywhere i can see the second two eps, doomed and which ever one came after it

no one has loaded them up on youtube yet

:(

oh and by the look of things it seems that they are operating a lower level of tolerance to showing violence on the show, Can anyone confirm if it is indeed a violent show or at the very least shows people getting punched in the face???

I don't know if anyone has gotten punched in the face - that's always a rarity in local animation these days, "blows to the head" are frequently a no-no - but considering how much of New York has been trashed already and how many hard blows Thing and Hulk gave each other on Saturday, I wouldn't say it's too soft.

the thing fought the HULK

already!!!!!!

whoa, looks like this thing is running on full cylinders already...

Yeah, that was episode four -

The four episodes to date are...

"Trial by Fire" - Which was supposed to be episode 2
"Doomed" - Supposed to be episode 4.
"Doomsday" - Supposed to be episode 1.
"Hard Knocks" - Unknown episode slot.

Next two weeks are...

"My Neighbor was a Skrull" - Unknown episode slot.
"Zoned Out" - Supposed to be episode 3.

I wish I knew why they were airing these out of order.

As for where you can get the eps... well, you could always try file-sharing programs like bittorrent or Kazaa Lite, I suppose, and see if you have any luck.

Question though - why doesn't Ben seem to be wearing pants that fit? It looks like his zipper's undone and he's showing off his tighty-whities.

Yeah, I also saw that, needless to say it made me laugh the first time I'd noticed it. I also thought he was, like, wearing his undies overtop of his pants. But, actually, as silly as it looks, I think it's intended to part of the suit design. Look at the other F4. They have that white patch over the front that goes all the way down between the legs. I think the animators were trying to do the same thing with Ben, but... LOL. It only made him look like he's wearing his tighty-whities over his pants. Poor choice of design. They should have stuck with the traditional blue-and-black or.. y'know... something more visually appealing and reminiscent of one of the original designs.

I wish I knew why they were airing these out of order.

I'm sure once any of us manages to figure that out, we'll let you know. ;)

Can anyone confirm if it is indeed a violent show or at the very least shows people getting punched in the face???

Well, people aren't getting punched in the face. And I wouldn't say it's unnecessarily violent, but like Bishop said it's not soft either. In some scenes, like in "Doomsday", Ben punches Doom and he flies across the room, but you don't see the punch happen. The camera diverts before he makes contact and only shows Doom landing against the wall. They still do quite a bit of that.

"Hard Knocks" was probably about as "violent" as it has gotten so far, I'd say. Of course, with anything involving Hulk vs. Thing, I suppose you can expect them to make a big mess.

ah crap, looks like another evolution-esque soft marvel animation

bah....

marvel need to get off their moral high ground and realise that a foundation of a good fight pretty much is going to bring in viewers and hence why so many western folk turn to anime or you can see the anime influences in the best of of the westernised stuff (dcau, samurai jack, jackie chan, turtles, the batman etc...).

and here i thought marvel was making progress with the hulk, and the second series of fantastic four and iron man.

bunch of pansies...

The ratings have been very good so apparently people are happy with what they are seeing.

Ive heard the same thing, but is there any proof for this?Like a report that ratings are high,i saw some official word that the FF cartoon is doing well, better than some had first thought.

I also remember there being a few episodes more, but then they would stop.Any word on the start of new episodes?

i bet it's only because it's the only superhero esque show on at the mo...

if it has no competition, then it's bound to do well.

season four of the batman, once it gets started it going to pull in a much bigger crowd

I wouldn't know, I haven't spoke with the mass audience to know why they are watching like they are.

I just watch it when I can, and enjoy it.

You still have to keep in mind that the main, target audience for this series is kids. It's rated Y7, which means kids 7 and up are gonna be watching it. I'm sure anyone with kids'll tell you they don't want their younger kids watching alot of unnecessary violence.

And, as was already stated by TripleF, the ratings are proving that its doing very well. You don't need alot of violence in order to bring in viewers. I think Marvel's striking a good balance between showing a good fight and making it decent enough for the younger fans.

Well, we'll see... Don't start stating that as fact until we see the results. Personal bias isn't something you can base such a claim upon.

Any word on the start of new episodes?

Not as of yet. I have heard that they are slated for 26 episodes, they just seem to be showing their descriptions and airtimes in installments. Which is kinda annoying. I'd like to know the entire schedule. LOL. But other companies do that too, though, so it's not unusual. Perhaps after they show the first six episodes, then they'll be posting more episode descriptions.

It's my theory anyway. They can't hide 'em forever. lol.

I DO know that this weekend's episode is "My Neighbor was a Skrull". So, I'm assuming that next weekend's is gonna be "Zoned Out".

So i'm guessing "Zoned Out" will be the series finale?

I'm sure there's more than six episodes. It's just that we only know about the air dates for the next two weeks. :p We didn't even know about "Zoned Out" until a week ago. This weekend we'll probably learn of another one.

Heh, yeah i was kinda hoping for more than six episodes. It's just when i look at that site it just listed six. I really hope there's more and we see some more characters show up.

I just did a search for news stories about the series to see if I could find something covering how many episodes we get.

Well, I did find something. It's a story from last year, which talks about "Marvel and Moonscope animation in France teaming up for Fantastic Four series." According to that story, Marvel placed an order with Moonscope to produce 26 episodes. So we've got a lot more to come, but I wouldn't be surprised if Cartoon Network chopped them into two seasons or something.

The more i see this cartoon, the more im happy with it.Again, keep in mind that the animation could have been worse. There is detail with this show, that has not been seen since Spider-Man and X-Men of the 1990`s,its doubtful anything can come close to their nearly extremly good quality, but this new FF can come close.Just be open minded,as for the episodes,i can imagine 26 episodes can be put into 2 seasons,or if Marvel is really putting it into the show,26 episodes will be 1 season.

I found another episode description. Turns out THIS one is supposed to air the first weekend of October (according to my schedule)...

"World's Tiniest Heroes"
After one of Reed's experiments goes awry, the Fantastic Four begin to shrink.

Hmm, something to do with the Microverse again, perhaps?

And this Saturday's is "My Neighbor was a Skrull". So, now, I have no idea when "Zoned Out" is slated to air.

But, anyways, that's about all I can find so far. I'll keep you guys updated if I spot anymore. :)

Since we've got that new 'Wolverine and the X-Men' cartoon coming up :whatever: I doubt the X-Men will be available to show up here.

Yes there is, I think it's titled "Wolverine and Friends" or "Wolverine and the X-men." I don't know something like that.

No clue on the release date.
