Is that Ben Affleck as Reed Richards?

Jon Hamm... But now I can't unsee it :argh:

They look similar. I've never been a viewer of Mad Men so Hamm doesn't register at all with me.

Even if the rights revert, I don't think we'll see another FF project anytime soon. The brand name is too damaged at the moment IMO. It won't be like Spider-Man who was rebooted immediately after.

Agreed. It'll sit on the shelf or be used as guest spots in other films rather than having it's own franchise for a good 10 years.

F4 is sort of like the Punisher. Its been attempted on film 4 times now, and each version stinks . Much like Punisher, Netflix may be the way to go eventually.

Perhaps characters could appear or make cameo appearances through out other MCU films much like Hulk did with Avengers and Spidey is in CW , and eventually work their way into their own project down the line. If they do come home to Marvel, please no origin story.

Any origin story would likely be done in flashbacks, I think. So as to not derail the current story going on yet give Marvel's definitive version of it. Same went for DD and likely the same is going to go for Spider-man.

Feige has already stated that they'd be no origin story again with Spiderman, though whos to say there won't be flashbacks with Uncle Ben in the past. I think a Netflix series could do an origin story due to the amount of episodes , but if they do another sole F4 in the MCU, skip the origin and get to story.

I'd have Fantastic Four set in the 60s and they have a fight with some monster and disappear. A young Hank Pym is then assigned to look for them leading to him discovering Pym particles as the FF are actually in the micro-verse. I'd have the micro-verse and the negative zone be one and the same.

In the present, I'd then have the nation of Latveria formed in the ruins of Sarkovia or whatever was destroyed in Age of Ultron. Victor von Doom is elected leader due to some lineage and goes to the USA on a diplomatic mission but the FF return from the microverse with the monster and the battle injures Doom who also gets pissed off that his mission to help the new Latveria is eclipsed in the media by the return of the FF. He goes home and makes a suit to contain his injuries using Vanko's research (Whiplash's dad and the fella who helped create the arc reactor) promising to help the people of Latveria.

That'd be my basic setup, anyway.

I find making the Microverse and the Negative Zone the same thing to be limiting, IMO. Yes, it can seem like combining 2 weird ideas to cut down on the strangeness for all the non-comics audience members would be a good idea but I think that's moving in the wrong direction. All this time what's been happening has been the vanilla general audience have been slowly stretched to accommodate the weirdness of comics in movies and I'd say that's a good trend that should never stop. I mean, we got them to accept a raccoon and a tree and a guy who shrinks and talks to insects. That took a long time and a lot of progress to get the GA there. I'd hate to back track any of that progress.

I don't necessarily think F4 would be right for netflix mainly because of special effects and budget. That problem aside I would love to see a Doctor Who-like,high concept sci-fi show. That could be fun as hell.

It may be a problem to make a new MCU film and I made a whole long post in another thread about this (which if you want all the details just read here). Basically I think the best way to reintroduce them is in another movie where you can establish them and test the waters for a franchise. And I think the best place would be in a Spider-man film. Spidey is still the main character and the F4 are supporting characters. I think that would be a good fit.

With the new movie getting bad reviews Fox should sell the rights back to Marvel and we should see a Netflix series and use that to slowly redeem the characters cause I doubt people will want to see another Fantastic Four movie even in The MCU
LOL I was thinking this exact same thing too. *High Five*
Shows like the Flash and AOS have demonstrated that you can do some cool stuff on TV.
Exactly!
Doesn't Jon Hamm not even want a cbm role?
That was just for Superman. He said it was a young man's game.

The scope of the FF is too big for TV

The Fantastic Four belong on the big screen tbh it has a ton of potential and if done right it could be as good and successful as Guardians of the Galaxy.

Once again, you can't do what is necessary for Fantastic Four on a TV budget, just like modern Incredible Hulk. In the 70s you could get away with using a big bodybuilder and paining him green, not anymore.

I'm certain they could make a great practical Thing in this day and age

Well they could start small with just them vs. Doom on Earth and skip the origin and then venture out into space later and then show up in Guardians of the Galaxy etc.
