Did I sense a bit of anti-Batman sarcasm from Mr. Lumpkin? I voted to not have the car. It's going to be hard enough coming up with a good plot including Galactus and Silver Surfer. There has already been one FF movie fluke, and a Fantasticar would only make certain of another.

There is no plot to "come up with." That was done perfectly in 1965 and should be adapted.
And you're reading waaay too much into Willie's comments. Jeez.

The Fantasticar has been a constant in FF since issue #3. Most fans don't consider it that silly.
I mean it's not like it's Bat-Mite or anything. ;)

Of course they should use the Fantasticar. As others have stated, it's a part of FF lore. If done right, it could look very cool.

Yes, absolutely. I don't see why people are opposed to this. Its a major part of the comics and of the FF's main means of transport.

If you look closely you'll see a half built or prototype of the Fantasticar in FF1. Also in Reed's storage area theres a few different models of it which are almost identical to the comic versions.

Funny, when I first read it, I thought he was referring to the Goblin Glider. I'd like to see the Fantasticar fly over the Batmobile while it's stuck in traffic and take a dump on it. Really, who wouldn't want a flying car? Granted, it'd be flying way too low in a post-9/11 NYC but I'm sure they could get some kind of leeway. And I'd love it if they introduced the name the way Reed did in Ultimate Fantastic Four;

Reed: I call it...the Fantasticar!

Ben: The "Fantasticar"?

Johnny: Dude, you Fantasti-suck.

Anyway, here are some random Fantasticar images.

yes, I wanna see Thing and Johnny argue on who flies it!

I think that will be silly since Johnny can fly. Who the hell would want to drive a car that will probably fly & all that over actual flying & look way cooler flamed up

Them arguing seems redundant

That's kid of the way I thought it would go with Reed naming the car and Johnnny and Ben making fun of it and laughing as they walk away, while Sue stifles a laugh herself. An opportunity for the film to poke fun at itself.

yes let reed DESIGN the fantasticar but have it not be completed and ready for use in ff2

Yes, they should!

To me, the Fantasticar is to the FF what the Batmobile is to Batman.

The Fantasticar flys a lot faster than Johnny does. Very helpful, if the team is on a mission half way around the globe. PLUS, lots of times Johnny prefers to be in the car, as he can rest his flame until he really needs it.

In regards to the design, the FF hasnt used the "flying bathtub" version in years. That was the prototype. The current model looks much more like the photo of the toy up above.

Also; if you find Ben and Johnny's arguing "redundant", then the Fantastic Four probably isnt for you.

Bring on the car. Maybe update it to look more like a whirlpool bath though...

Of course what kind of stupid question is that! =P

Any fan of the comics knows of its importance.

If I could fly I'd still want to drive it! :) It's freakin awesome!

That right there is why they NEED to have it.

People are going to be walking out of the theater saying: "I've GOT to get me one of those."

If they do it right, it could be the coolest movie vehicle since the Millenium Falcon.

Is that from your personal collection?

lol....i don't have a personal collection....

I don't mind the idea of the Fantasticar in the next movie. The X-Men had their jet, Batman had the Batmobile, why the hell shouldn't they have the Fantasticar? :)
