I've been playing this for a few days now, it's really fun, a bit jarring having some stuff that feels familiar to AC series from liberating outposts, climbing on top of a radio tower to activate it so you "synchronize" the area, but those are just stuff I notice at a glance, the story's quite interesting too, it helps that Vaas's a real compelling villain. Crafting's a good addition, I just like the idea of going hunting to create holsters so you could carry more weapons and syringes, that's where the wildlife's really comes to life, like while I'm sneaking around a camp I could hear a tiger's growl and a few seconds later seeing it attacking the enemies surrounding the camp, that they also split the animals in categories from predators to those who are not dangerous, just the randomness on moments like following and watching a tiger chasing after a ox to being caught off guard by komodo dragons, especially since they could just surround you, it really elevate the atmosphere. I also like RPG vibe with the spending skills points so you could do stuff like enemy knife takedown, swim faster (helps when there's sharks around) to taking less damages from explosives, it gives a variation and I like it.
The A.I. is pretty consistent apart of an occasion or so when it's a bit wonky, it did made me laugh though, for an example there's one instance when the allies are driving two jeeps, both heading in different directions and just when they pass each other the driver in one jeep swirled and the jeeps crashed against each other. However I'm a bit bothered by the hand holding mechanics like tagging enemies via camera, tutorials pop‐up that appear every few seconds, glowing bodies/items, a reminder of a story mission you could start, it takes one out of the immersion for a moment's notice but I'd like to see Ubi adding no HUD option. It's possible that the game might feel repetitive later down the line (as usual with sandbox games after putting many hours into it) but I'm trying not to think about it and just enjoy the moment.
