I agree.I think that it'd be kind of cool if they gave a female director a shot this time around.

I am sick and tired of responses like this. These let me ignore the stone cold fact that Hollywood big wigs do not just go after the best person, they go after the best white male for the job. That's a fact no matter how much you want to ignore it.I care more about the skill of the director than the contents of their underwear.
It's b.s and after reading the same frustrating thing in places like the Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel forums over and over again I'm not going to take it anymore. I'm not going to let it slide when someone responds to my post with that argument. Maybe I'll be less harsh next time but I will respond.Yeah, it's funny how the "I only care about the skill of the director, and not their gender" ONLY comes up when the idea of a female director gets thrown around. It never seems to when it's a male one. It REALLY does sound like a strawman "argument."
Please don't try and tell me that they couldn't find a female director who could do this job if they just looked (which I honestly doubt that they have up until this point).

Exactly.Plus one of the things that people praise about these films, especially since #4, is it's diversity? Heck look a Dom's crew, it's mult-racial/gendered/ethnic, and with different nationalities. Plus add in the villains, supporting characters, etc.
So it'd fit this franchise more than most even.
I'd go for Len Wiseman.

The fans of the Fast & Furious SAGA are the best fans in the world... Since I became the Producer in 2008, you have been with me every step of the way... literally giving me feedback that proved invaluable. Thank you.
My producing partner Neal would love for me to just sign off on a director, but this is too special a franchise, so these matters have to be very carefully handled. To be clear, NO ONE has been offered to helm Fast 8 yet... let alone seen a script.
Universal has been so good to me and so trusting of the vision... they have been like family... I promised the studio I would deliver one last Trilogy to end the saga.
I will announce the directors on my next post...
Fast and Furious 7 is really brilliant movie..
