Interesting. If Dom goes evil, doesn't make sense from a story perspective why Brian wouldn't help. Obviously there's a real world reason. But it's an intriguing storyline nonetheless.

Ok, conflicted thoughts. As someone who absolutely LOVED Furious 7 and the last 3 F&F movies in general...this plot feels a little contrived. Somehow the team is now gong to work with Statham? I'm sure there's a good reason why Dom is working with Theron and I kinda dig that angle but I dunno. I still feel they should've ended the franchise with 7, it was a damn near perfect way to go out.

But, hey, I don't wanna rain on anyone's parade, the movie does look entertaining as f*** which I guess is all you could ask for. Also, damn, this is only the first trailer and they damn near gave everything away!

Not at all. The whole marketing including the first poster revolves around Dom going rogue. The true plot part they need to keep a mystery is WHY he does it. It has to be a damn good reason for him to betray his family in such a cold hearted manner.

Given Dom's behavior in the trailer, it just REEKS of deep cover work. After all, they said a while ago that this was gonna be like a spy movie so having him play double-agent for Theron's character makes sense.

Obviously, Theron's possibly this very-hard to get at villain so the government has Dom infiltrate her group (without informing Letty and company) and pretend to go traitor in order to keep his cover! I've seen this scenario plenty of times! Besides, Vin Diesel wouldn't allow Dom to go bad for no reason. It'd be out of character for him after 7 movies and he knows this!

Yeah, the trailer clearly is edited that way. Plus, he CAN'T tell the others b/c it'd blow Dom's cover. It's clear he's acting like he doesn't know to get the others in as his "B" squad to obviously lure Theron out into the open. It's classic.
