I refuse to believe that Jason Statham turned down the role because he will play in anything.

Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis personally and publicly endorse you as the future of action cinema. Do you a: make action low budget action movies with Taylor Hackford, Steven Knight and Brian DePalma or b: make a huge budget action movie where you play second fiddle to Paul Walker?

I am glad Jason turned down the role to be in this. Nothing aganist him but, he has just been in WAAY to many action movies over these past few years. Let's see transporter 1 and 2, Italian Job, Crank 1 and 2, the mechanic, Killer Elite, some other movie about robbing a bank ( forgot the title), Expendables 1 and upcoming 2, and a movie that comes out this month Safe. The current fast five team is good enough.

Fast & Furious 6 Targets Gina Carano

Director Justin Lin looks to have his sights set on another action star for his upcoming Fast & Furious 6. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that MMA fighter and Haywire star Gina Carano is up for a role in the May 24, 2013 release.

Produced by Neal Moritz, the franchise has grossed over $1.5 billion worldwide with the recent Fast Five having grossed nearly $600 million globally on its own.

Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson are confirmed to be returning, though much of the supporting cast of the last film are likely as well. Details of the plot are currently few but Six, like Five, is expected to be a heist film.

Better Get Carano vs Rodriguez Then

haha :lmao: It was called...The Bank Job! and dude, what kind of films do you expect Jason Stratham to act in? That's what's good about him, he doesn't try to act in Francis Ford Coppola's William Spakespeare's Charles Dicken's Oliver Reed's Twist again like we did I know what you did last Summer.
He baldly goes where he has gone before, because that is what he is good at, that is what people like to see him do.

and you missed out a couple of other action movies, Death Race 3000, that remake of '13'(which is about as much of an 'action' movie as the bank job, so i guess you would've included it in your list.)

He think he could have done better in certain movies because he was great in Bank Job, and the Guy Ritchie films. He is literally the new 80's era Stallone.

statham looks the same in every movie and does'nt help dude wears a damn suit in every film

I'm not saying he's the best actor but he's the epitome of the 80's action star: You are drawn to him due to his effortless charisma even if he plays the same character again and again. But I do feel like he can be a GREAT actor if he wants to be, but he choses to do a bunch of generic action movies like Safe instead.

I really miss his partnership with Guy Ritchie..

And I'll say this, if you can't get Jason, then get Gerald Butler then. I think the Brit in this film should be an actor in whom we recognize and is known for action.

Aye, but also like Stallone, no-one wants to see him in an unsuitable movie, if Stratham showed up in a romantic movie, it could be as unsuitable for him as Staloone doing 'stop or my mum will shoot!'
As in, I bet Stratham would be able to act well in a romantic film, just as Stallone can be funny in his action films. But since great romantic and comedic movies are few and far between, how much of a chance has he got of landing the right role in the right movie if he decides to branch out? Not much, and he probably knows that, so has a high strike rate in being successful with his roles.

Ray Winstone was kind of the same, he played the same kind of tough guy role for years, and eventually got a role in a Scorsese movie. So maybe the same will happen with Stratham, he will one day land a role in that great gangster film. Lock Stock was not it, but it was a good start, esp for someone who had never acted before.

I wonder if Carano is replacing Statham? Even if not, I approve of Carano doing big action movies.

Look at it this way. Even if you didn't enjoy Steven Seagal's films, they made for good comedy right? Well that applies to Statham's films, except he can vary it up and appear in a decent film occasionally.

Gina Carano could kick my ass. I'm not comfortable with how much that turns me on, but it does. :o

I thought Gina Carano was awesome in Haywire so this is great news.

if they give Gina a good character on paper and good dialoge then she will be praised like Dwayne .

do we remember his lines? that was over the top fun awesome amazing.

She's perfect for this cheesy but (now) awesome franchise. I still haven't seen Haywire yet and plan to get around to that.

I heard Reianna (chris browns punch bag) was gonna play a villian....any one hear this as well?

You saying in the future Statham might star in gangster flicks? That be cool, I can totally see him playing a mob boss or enforcer in gangster flicks done by Scorsese.
