There's a song(instrumental actually) that plays when Dom and Brian are making their cars before they race each other, does anyone know what it is?

That's the theme from the official score. 'Fast and Furious' by Brian Tyler.

Fast & Furious beats The Dark Knight for highest opening in Australian history

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Proof that a slick trailer, hot wheels and the promise of skimpy chicks will defeat the wailing of film critics every time, Universal Pictures has just informed us that Fast And Furious bagged $2.5 million yesterday at Australia's cinemas. Yes, in one day, the fourth spin of a franchise known for containing fast and, incredibly, furious things, was able to secure enough coin to break the record for the biggest box office opening day ever in April.

Want some context? How about a little movie we like to call The Dark Knight? The Heath Ledger-fuelled Dark Knight took $2.45 million on its opening day last April, less than what punters splashed on the blockbuster reunion of Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. Repeat: Fast And Furious has beaten Dark Knight. Gulp. Keep an eye out for the other three Horsemen of the Apocalypse, that's what we're advising.

You can click here to read all about what Empire made of the fourth Fast And Furious outing which, as you might expect, is quite a different response than was generated at ticket booths yesterday. Supporting Fast And Furious' mammoth $70 million opening weekend in the US, this record-breaking Australian opening day suggests we haven't seen the last of this smash-and-crash series. Pity.

You know why? We want to see that f***ing Hanniba Barca movie! Hurry the hell up Diesel!

Saw it online. It was okay. Better than the abysmal 2 Fast 2 Furious (never saw Tokyo Drift...never will). Quick thoughts.

Cool drives
A great chase/race in the middle with the GPS
Vin Dissel is monotone
Paul Walker cannot act
They killed off Michelle Rodrugiez and I didn't care
Paul Walker cannot act
Jordana Brewster was hot and should have done more
Paul Walker cannot act
The third act was weak
Paul Walker cannot act.

My 2 cents.

Only one way to truly settle this. Charger vs. Tumbler. Quarter mile decides it.

Hey, I'm just sayin....:o

I think he wanted to rape you in the mouth. :wow:

Just got back from seeing this movie.

Fast & Furious.

No wonder this movie is a smash hit. It's just so much fun. Honestly some of the most fun I've had at the movies in a long time. It has this brilliant combination of legitimate fun and parts so bad you can't help but laugh your ass off. I don't think anything like that has been done since the 80's. Speaking of which Vin Diesel played this movie totally 80's (Sans one-liners sadly). He no sold a gun shot to the back and just turned around and gave this bad ass look and later he non chalantly blew up cars with a shotgun. He even had flashes of that self aware glint that Connery had in the Bond films and Schwarzenegger had in Commando, but only flashes, there wasnt enough of it. Paul Walker this time playing a suit rather than a street tough guy did ok, I could actually watch him without cringing. The girls where fine in their limited roles, Jordana Brewster is hot as hell, she needs to co-star along Malin Akerman (In ANYTHING) yesterday.

I don't mean any harm but I wish the studio and/or director will just say that this movie ignores 2fast 2furious. There is no Tyrese (whether he filmed a cameo or not he's not in the finished movie), there's not really any references to that movie (that comment Brian made about wrecking the Skyline was very vague; he could've been referencing anything for all we know), and I just don't buy, know matter how I think about it, Brian wanting to be an FBI agent after saying at the end of 2fast 2furious he and Roman was opening up a garage. I know these are just movies and you not really suppose to think too much but the continuity with 2fast 2furious (if they really included that movie) just doesn't mesh.

P.S.
If you really pay attention to the story and plot of Fast and Furious, it is very simliar to 2fast 2furious. The only difference is that the new movie doesn't take place in Miami (and doesn't have as much of the goofiness).

Even though everyone says this takes place after 2, its very likely that it's before imo

especially considering the rescue, which could be the reason he's on the run later on. Thought it makes the feds hiring him less likely. Then again, it's just a dumb movie

It takes place after 2 but before 3

Yeah it's after the 2nd, and before Tokyo.

I figured the opening scene with Han happened before Tokyo Drift but the rest of the movie was supposed to be happening at the same time as Tokyo.

It would probably take Han some time to get himself established there though.

i think the whole movie takes place before tokyo drift. han has to get himself established with DK and all that, so tokyo drift would probably take place...i'd say maybe a year after the final scene of the new movie. but watching all 4 now seems to work pretty well seeing as how there was such a change in direction from 2fast to tokyo
