Fast and the Furious 9: The Fast Saga

Tyrese is losing it, definitely, but I don't think we can easily discount how important Roman is to the comedic balance, which is what makes these films fun romps as opposed to overserious machismo fests. The nature of the franchise changes without the character. He's not the source of the appeal, I know, but he's a big source of why the franchise is completely inoffensive... even if the actor himself is.

Pushing Letty and Mia forward to be the "new" Roman and Brian wouldn't hurt either. If they're taking off Roman, then they kind of need a new skeptic.

And you do need to have a skeptic. That's a big part of why xXx isn't FnF.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Roman got shuffled off and The Rock brought his buddy Kevin Hart into he franchise as the new comic relief character.

I don't know how you really bring Mia back into the action and leave Brian out of it. It just doesn't make sense; he wouldn't let the team involve her unless he was part of it.

That aside though... I do enjoy Roman as a character overall and I think it would kinda suck if they lost him.

I really hope Sean's character can be woven back into the franchise before the end.

Why???

Netflix announced Monday that the turbocharged film franchise will be expanded to include an animated tv series on the streaming platform, part of Netflix’s new deal with DreamWorks.

According to the series’ synopsis, teen protagonist Tony Toretto “follows in the footsteps” of his cousin Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel’s character/finest role) when he and his own posse of teenaged drivers “are recruited by a government agency to infiltrate an elite racing league serving as a front for a nefarious crime organization bent on world domination.”

This reminds me of the 80s when they made Rambo a kids cartoon.

Ehh... One is "traumatized vet violently dispatches people" and the other is "ragtag group does a bunch of wild **** with cars".

I mean, granted, there have been some killings along the way, but I can kind of see the animated appeal.

Disney already made that show. It's called Motorcity.

Gosh a Netflix series but no video game adaption yet.

Shame shame shame

Eh Rambo was a R-rated franchise where the first movie was about a broken PTSD-suffering war vet having a mental and emotional breakdown, the next two had ridiculously high body counts, and the fourth was a mix of both.

F&F is a PG-13 franchise that's been leaning into the more cartoonish aspects of itself since, at least Part 5 anyway. So it's easier to justify a F&F cartoon than a Rambo one.

Ha, the rock said he would only come back if he gets to go to wakanda

The cast should be shrunk down into mini cars and have to race around Diesel's giant ego!

This franchise needs to reinvent itself again. It but its peak with 5 and 6. The last one was too ridiculous, even for this franchise.

Agreed. The franchise just isn’t the same without Paul. Vin has made it too much about himself when it really should be an ensemble.

Justin Lin is back, which gives me some hope.

Dwayne told MTV News that, as it stands right now, he's not in Fast 9, but that he does expect to eventually come back into the main franchise, citing that "Dom and Hobbs have unfinished business".

I’d pay if Vin and Dwayne actually fought and they just filmed it live with imax cameras. Though I guess that fight would be over pretty quickly.

We'll see. The franchise has changed a lot since he left so hopefully he brings it back to a more "realistic" tone like it had for Fast 5 (e.g. no nuclear submarines).

Looks like we are getting a Superbowl spot for this one though, which makes sense.
