Fast and the Furious 9: The Fast Saga

Haha Cena is the most obvious add ever. But I love it.

They should make him the new gadget guy just to subvert him

John Cena seems like fan casting but this Fast & Furious after all.

With The Rock unlikely to return to the main F&F series due to his beefs with Vin and Tyrese, can't say I'm surprised they added someone like Cena to add a bit of star power/muscle.

Someone asked Charlize Theron if she was coming back, and she said she doesn't know. She said she hasn't gotten a call.

I'm fine with that. He performance and white trash Predator dreads weren't it, chief

Like her a lot but she wasn't that good.

The issue is, from the standpoint of the story, it's a major thing. I do believe it's something that they need to swing back around to, even if it's not in 9. If we never see her again for the rest of the entire franchise, I'm not down with that.

How is Theron with sequels? I don’t think she’s ever played the same character twice. I think a big reason she did Fate of the Furious was her relationship with the director who directed her in The Italian Job.

Oh, that’s right. Guess I thought her quality control was stronger.

Well, Michelle Rodriguez didn't know she was coming back until she saw Fast Five and the end credits scene. So clearly they aren't the best at communicating.

So now that the franchise has added John Cena, I want him to put his WWE finisher on some aliens, zombies and Nazis as part of the time travel, space adventure zombie apocalypse plot I hope we see for the next movie.

I hope they bring her back one day. I adored her character

Rodriguez’s condition for coming back was that they add a female writer to the film. They have, now she’s back.

Cool! I reckon having a woman writer is a good idea too. Why not, there’s so many great women writers

I don’t think you need a great anything when it comes to this franchise.

With this franchise being what it is I shouldn't be surprised Cena was casted, but at the same time I'm really going to miss The Rock not being apart of this ensemble anymore. His interactions with the rest of the cast were some of my favorite parts in the last couple of films. I know this series isn't known for its Oscar winning acting and dialogue, but I still feel as if he brought a new kind of energy to these movies which is something I definitely didn't feel before which is probably the reason why I enjoyed Fast Five and Furious 6 so much. I just don't see Cena bringing that in this one, especially after seeing him in something like Bumblebee where he is just overacting throughout the whole thing. I really couldn't stand his character in that movie at all.

I’m not taking Vin’s Instagram video alone as confirmation of Cena being in the film. I do like Cena, and I would have no problem with him joining the franchise. But I’m not going with it yet. Access Hollywood or one of those asked Cena about it, and he said he couldn’t confirm. He did say that he appreciated Vin’s endorsement, and that if he were to be given the opportunity, he’d give it his all.

All the major trades are reporting that Cena is an official lock. Direct confirmation from Universal.

Glad Cena appears to be in. Also, regarding this bull**** Diesel/Rock feud thing... I may be alone in this but I think the main F&F series can survive without the Rock. He wasn’t a part of it until the fifth installment, and he was barely in the 7th one. And while Fast Five is easily the best film in the series, it wasn’t just because he was there. I like the Rock, but he seems to have an ego that’s bigger than his biceps. And while Vin may very well be a *****e, the Rock kinda owes him and the F&F series for boosting him to superstardom. His filmography before his F&F gig consisted of crap like The Tooth Fairy, mediocre action films like Faster and whatever the hell that Witch Mountain remake was supposed to be. Perhaps he would have still become a huge movie star without this series but it certainly was what helped him really break through.

I hope the Cena casting leads to "Thrice in a Lifetime!" between him and the Rock.

Glad to see Cena in (deadline confirmed as well). But a big shame The Rock is out. I would have liked to see those two interacting. To be fair I want to see everyone back.
