Fast and the Furious 9: The Fast Saga

They kicked Kurt Russell and Scott Eastwood out this series or nah?

Just checked on IMDB, they're not listed.

Also I didn't know Michael Rooker was in this.

If I want to see a good actor version of Scott Eastwood, I’ll watch his father Clint from the 60s/70s.

Dammit. Even the posters have this "Avengers: Endgame" feeling to them

I actually won't be surprised if they do that with 10 since it's supposedly the last one.
Have cameos from all the "big" series stars
Get Eva Mendes out of retirement, Bow Wow, Lucas Black, Don Omar, Luke Evans, Ja Rule, Michael Ealy, Devon Aoki, etc.

I wouldn't mind it

Torreto- For family!!

*A ton of cars go head to head with each other and everyone miraculously survive*

This "saga" is really just a direct to dvd movie series with a big budget and high profile actors

..but goddamn does it work so well

Generally speaking, it's a tad overrated in my opinion.

It is but the average joe's love for unapologetic non stop violence trumps any of that.

That's not it. The "Fast and Furious" movie have always been fairly tame. It's probably the "Jersey Shore" / Guido-themed fast food philosophy that caught on with people.

I have to say, "Fast Five" was fun, 7 had great direction by James Wan and the "Hobbs and Shaw" spin-off was entertaining and well directed, but the rest I'm not really a fan of ( the first two are guilty pleasures).

I get the simple pleasures of the franchise, but I will never understand the overwhelming love and critical reception for "Fast and Furious 6," for example, which was forgettable, by the numbers and ridiculous in how it tried to take its storyline seriously.

I found 6 to be quite boring, for example. I'm not overthinking it. In that case I didn't find it to be fun and exciting at all. That's all.

Tokyo Drift, Fast Five and Hobbes and Shaw were the only movies from the franchise that I liked.

The first two movies were run of the mill car movies while the latter ones were just bloated cgi, male ego spectacles

The fact that these movies make a billion worldwide prove the rest of the world has just as bad taste as Americans.

Audiences worldwide don’t need plot, character or dialogue as long as there’s fast cgi cars and jokes.

Exactly.
They're just amusement park rides man. It's not that hard to grasp.
It's like the Transformers movies. It's clear why they are/were popular despite most of them not being very good.

Don't overthink it. People think they're fun. There's not much to it other than that

That's just such a stereotype, man. Audiences worldwide are as varied and picky as American audiences, unless we're talking about territoriale who've just found out what a Hollywood movie is.

We’re talking general audience box office. I mean, Fate of the Furious is the second biggest Hollywood movie in China. Let that sink in.
