Fast Five Aka The Fast and The Furious 5

i like the 2nd film the least just because its such a different kind of film. having said that, i still own it and consider it part of the other stories and enjoy it, just not as much. im hoping tyrese will retain some of his ghetto-ness for this film tho lol. "we hungry".

but whats more important for me is 1.) im hoping they show how dom was released from the prison bus, itd be cool to see that be the first scene and then however long there is inbetween then and the beginning of this one and 2.) is i heard they are making one more movie, and im sure vin diesel is involved, but what i would like to see more than anything else for this franchise is for it to take place AFTER tokyo drift. bring back the guy from that film and team him up with the main cast. id prefer to not have that film be the last chronological film in this series just because i think they could do something with that character. otherwise it really wont have much to do with the others and will be the 1 entry that seems the most like a spin-off movie.

I liked the second one for one scene. The race between the imports and domestics (EVO/Eclipse vs. Camaro/Challenger)

the first one was cool and fun... but the second was just more.... and it had a funnier duo in walker & Gibson over Vin & Walker....

As far as i'm concerned...this is the conclusion of a TRILOGY. :o

Never saw Tokyo Drift (which should be okay since chronologically, its the LAST in the series of films). And 2 Fast was simply passable...

For me, its Dom and O' Connor that make the series.

If I may say, you're missing out.

All I know is that Han is a pretty popular character among fans of the franchise...

In both "Fast & Furious" and the "Fast Five" trailer my friends got pretty excited when they see that Han is in the movie.

Excitement, followed with confusion. Haha.

Tokyo Drift is my favorite...and Han is the best part of that movie along with Morimoto (who spits in people's face a lot).

Han IS the franchise :o

Whoa, whoa, whoa!!! Let's not get crazy now! He's arguably the most popular character introduced since the franchise began, but Diesel and Walker ARE the franchise, and don't you forget it!!!

Looking forward tot he soundtrack too. Wish they'd get some more Atari Teenage Riot and Does it Offend You Yeah? type stuff on it.

I will say that it has been a great franchise for car enthusiasts.

Interesting that Tego Calderon doesn't provide any song on the soundtrack even though he's in the movie.

Hopefully theirs some legit looking races. Not some b.s cgi, g.p.s race.

I guess Dom saves his life somehow & The Rock lets him go. Like the ending to the first one with Brian letting Dom go & then in the next one The Rock joins the crew

Sounds about right. only thing is we keep hearing that The Rock's character might be a keen choice for a spin-off should this film do well. So I don't know if he'd join the crew or not. But him letting Dom get a head start sounds pretty likely.

LOL

Han is the Boba Fett of the Fast and the Furious franchise.

A somewhat obscure, mildly interesting but not particularly well-developed character that amasses a large fanbase for reasons unknown.

Although I guess you could argue that none of the characters in this series are very developed ver well, so there's that.

The spin off could be prequels I imagine. Basically another Han situation. We saw how the FBI treated Brian after letting Dom go. So I doubt The Rock would get special treatment

Han was the "Dom" character of Tokyo Drift. If it was just his scene in the last film I would definitely agree with you. Only other way I'd compare him to Boba Fett is that they both were maybe killed off too soon, although i understand the decision to kill them. In Fett's case it's not necessarily the screentime but that he is portrayed as a badass and then killed by a blind guy on accident lol.

I know Han had a bigger part than Boba Fett, but I still found him pretty forgettable, as was the movie (IMO). And like you said, he was just the substitute "Dom" character. Which is funny because Dom ends up appearing in the film at the end. I actually think the movie would have been better (and wouldn't have felt like a throwaway, American Pie Presents-type spinoff) if they just had Diesel as the mentor/badass character in the film instead of Han. But I guess they couldn't convince him to have more than a cameo.
