Fast Five Aka The Fast and The Furious 5

According to The Rock on Twitter Fast Five is Universal's biggest opening film in Australia. I know it's a popular franchise here. Still spoken about to this day.

I kind of want to see this. Although I haven't seen any of the other ones.

They were alright, avoid watching 2Fast 2Furious. I really loved the last one, I thought it had a pretty good story.

As for Fast Five it has the Rock in this, nuff said.

My job had a big screening for this. Tyrese and Diesel showed up. The response seemed damn positive afterword. A friend I hadn't seen in yrs said it was the best one of the series.

I mean this has Diesal fighting the Rock. Not just being in the same film, fighting The Rock.

Exactly, btw the director also directed the last two Fast and Furious movies so I am completely on board with this.

Tokyo Drift was okay, i think if anything what I like of it was the direction, and then with number 4 you had the characters that i loved being guided by a good hand. Lin has done a good job, i hope he gets to do more stuff beyond these, while hopefully getting to do number 6 too.

If this hits, you bet your ass. Universale hasn't had any hits lately. This will probably be their first hit in ages.

The thing about tokyo drift, is it's actually about racing. I'm not big on drifting, but that is one thing I really admired about that film. Fast and furious lost its way. I'm hoping their is a good race in fast five, not that wack GPS crap.

I've heard that reasoning, and I understand it too. After two sequels though I missed Dom, and then after number 3 i missed Brian and Letty and Mia. I never realized how much i liked those characters until they were gone, so it ended up being my desire to see those characters trumping my liking for the street racing aspect. I still get it though, what you guys say.

I wonder why they never explained what happened to leon? Vince has a part in fast five, I wonder...

No disrespect to you brother, but...are you being serious right now? Rock triplets?

LOL, no. I meant it as a joke.

It's a shame Faster didn't make more money though. I would have loved to have seen another movie with his Driver character.

Variety's review gives away the goddamn (after-credits?) ending surprise.:cmad:

Uncredited cameo by Eva Mendes as her character Monica Fuentes from 2 Fast.

That seems like a mildly pointless surprise

I'd have to see it play out. It sounds like the scene isn't a throwaway, but a set-up for Fast Six.
I swear to God, if they have Brian in a "two-women dilemma" situation for the sixth movie, I'm gonna be pissed.

Seen it... and it Rocked...(no pun intended)

Don't look if you don't wanna know big spoilers....
Thought this was a damn good addition to the F&F franchise.

Good points -
THAT fight... BRUTAL AS HECK.
The vehicle action seemed to be more real... rather than the CGI mess (IMHO) of the original two and some of the impacts during the bank vault sequence were ****ing brutal... they killed a **** load of people there.
The after credits sequence...(HUGE SPOILER HERE)
Having Eva Mendez's character return to tell the Rock's that there's another team out there... headed by Letty... didn't see that coming TBH... and it sets up a 6th movie with a bloody interesting story.
The twist with the binmen truck was cool... and unexpected.
Tyrese's Passport photo :awesome:

Not so good points -
Reyes... kinda weak.. never really got that he was a bad mofo as they kept on saying....now the dude who seemed to be his right hand man... now he seemed like a bad mofo..
a few of the twists were expected.... but i guess (Again no pun intended) that was expected.

9.5/10...

About the BIG DAMN SPOILER...
That's insane. I'll never watch Fast 4 in the same way again.

Letty is still alive wtf ? & if Letty can survive that then Han can easily survive his death in Tokyo Drift. I guess Dom & co will meet up with Letty & co in the next one ?

Fast & Furious made $353 M worldwide. It was a hit. Fast Five off to a great start.

'Fast Five' Runs Over 'Thor 3D' In Australia
By NIKKI FINKE | Thursday April 21, 2011 @ 10:10am PDT

Well, this is a surprising start for the first two big films of Summer 2011. Marvel/Disney's Thor 3D distributor Paramount opened on Thursday in Down Under thinking its Norse God would steal Fast Five's thunder from Universal, which opened its street car racing pic the day before. Didn't happen. Day Two of Fast Five beat Thor by 38% -- $2.02 million U.S. dollars vs $1.5 million U.S. dollars -- even though both films are playing in the same number of theaters (220), Fast Five is only 2D so can't command the higher 3D ticket prices, and Thor's lead Chris Hemsworth is Australian. Universal is crowing that its Day 2 of Fast Five was ahead of Iron Man 2 and Spider-Man 3 and its cume there is now $4.43 million U.S. dollars. Meanwhile, also today, Fast Five's previews in Korea are running 34% bigger than Fast And Furious (the fourquel in the franchise). In North America, Fast Five opens April 29 and Thor on May 6.

This movie will make back its budget before it even hits the States
