I'd be disappointed as hell if TD was made non-canon.
I don't get the hate for TD. I really enjoyed that film. And it's really the last Furious film in it's old format. I love Lin's direction, the cinematography, the driving and stunts. The races/car action in TD trumped anything that was in 2Fast,which is still fun, I like it. But it's my least favorite. Han was such a great character. He really centered that film. I've grown to really appreciate TD over the years.
I agree i love Toyko Drift. When i first rented the DVD i was not sure what to expect and i was thinking this movie is probably going to be a piece of **** because theres no original cast member in it but ill give it a watch to see. When i was finished watching the film i was really surprised with how much i thought the film was awesome and id hate it if they took the movie out of F&F canon but i dont think they ever will. I would love to see a sixth film following on from Fast5 set in Europe dealing with the easter egg and then a seventh and final movie set after the events of Toyko Drift with Lucas Blacks character joining Doms crew.....Lack of Vin Diesel probably.
That one remains the best of the franchise to this day
Hey man not everybody has your opinion...Why would you be disappointed? Tokyo Drift was meh.
Instead of all the confusion why don't they take Tokyo Drift out of the main fast and furious canon. I really disliked that movie and would rather it be a stand alone alternate fast and furious movie. It was easily the weakest one in the series and had nothing to do with the main cast of the series ( other than a short cameo by Vin). And the only reason he did that cameo was to do Fast 4.
As much as I loved Fast Five I think a 7th movie would really be pushing it. I think they should stop after fast six at least with the main cast. I don't want these movies to become stale like what happened to the saw movies. I think they should go out with a bang in fast six and be done. Maybe a few years down the line reboot the franchise.
I hate Tokyo Drift and consider it the Halloween 3 of the FF series

Why did you go see the film without seeing the 4th before it? Also the new female addition to Doms crew is not that new after all, seen as she was a character introduced in the 4th movie, but you would know this if you had seen it before the 5th..........Just got back from seeing this, and it was better than expected. Overall a solid, entertaining flick. Haven't seen any of the FF movies since 2 Fast actually, should probably get around to seeing the other two.
The fight between Vin Diesel and The Rock has to be the best hand-to-hand fight ever put to film. Damn if that wasn't awesome, that was such a bad-ass fight. I recommend seeing the movie just for the fight! Man and the The Rock exuded bad-assness, it was definitely over-the-top but it was totally awesome too.
The extended chase at the end was totally awesome too. Don't want to give the details away but that also totally made the movie for me in the sheer over-the-top ridiculousness and the extended damage to buildings and road structures.I laughed every time a building or road structure got smashed, loved the way that kept playing up.
Both of the new female characters - the cop and the addition to Vin Diesel's team - were both cool, and hot too. The scene at the beach was totally awesome.Anyone who's seen the movie knows what I'm talking about.
This movie totally made me want to visit Rio de Janeiro too. Made it look like a really scenic city.
Can anyone spoil the easter-egg scene after the credits? I didn't get to hang around after the credits.

I totally agree, the Cars and the style of racing are the stars of this movieTokyo drift is underrated. I love the fact that the cars and racing are the stars of the film.

Also if you have not already seen the easter egg then i would not want to find out what it is about if you have not seen Fast & Furious because it would ruin a massive plot point of he 4th movie......
I'm not knocking your opinion, but you like the fight between vin and the rock over fight scenes like bruce lee vs. Chuck norris?
I just added the 3rd and 4th FF movies to my Netflix queue so I'll be catching up on them soon.Thx for the info, guess I'll just watch the 4th movie first and find out about the easter-egg scene later.
Well it was certainly the best hand-to-hand fight that I can remember seeing at least. I also meant that it was the best beatdown-style fight that I've seen - excluding fights with martial arts because that's a whole other game.Have never heard of a Bruce Lee vs Chuck Norris scene - will definitely have to look that one up.
This is what an expendables film should/could have been.
-I felt more fan appreciation for each of these characters than anyone in expendables
-I felt more energy and awesomeness and set up from the fight in this than anything in expendables..
-Justin Lin for the next Expendables
The four way squad car race is what took me back to it and made say, "this is a Fast and Furious movie."
Fast Five opened first overseas 10 days ago and this weekend grossed a huge $45.3M at 3,211 dates in just 14 territories. That raised its early international tally to $81.4M. So now the worldwide total stands at a whopping $165M. The pic opened No. 1 in each of the 10 new markets. The openings are bigger than all the previous Fast franchise films and far ahead of Marvel/Disney's Thor, which Paramount has opened head-to-head against Fast Five in 12 markets but not in the U.S. and Canada until next Friday. Even rival studios say Fast Five is on track for a $300M foreign and $500M worldwide finish.
