I'm betting the "extended" parts are similar to the past films so called extended editions.

Didn't fast 5 and 6 also have extended editions? I expect this to be the same, with a few extended takes and some alternate more violent ones.

Wow, Furious 7 actualy did it.

I remember wondering if the plane scene between Dom and Brian was using footage from Fast Five when Brian was saying he didn't remember anything about his dad. The shot of Brian had looked very familiar to me. (top is Fast Five, bottom Furious 7)

Looks like that's the case and maybe they used alternate takes of that scene from Five and placed them in Furious 7 for this scene.

Same. I hope it actually is good

Sadly this extended edition seems to only be 2 minutes longer. The movie comes out on blu-ray in Spain on July 29, and I'm importing it. Should have it by August 6. I'll post the differences in here.

I didn't realy like the extended version making Statham's introduction slower, i thought the original version with the fastforwards worked better.

How does it play out in the extended version?

Remember Statham's introduction in the hospital? They make certain scenes faster due to aesthetical choices and to make it look cooler, the extended doesn't have that element, so we see all of Statham's walk in real time. I don't think it works as well, in that scene where he throws a grenade, it seems to take forever until it explodes.

Well that's unfortunate. It worked well in the theatrical version. Sounds like a completely arbitrary change.

They probably did it just so they can put "extended version" on the cover to make people check it out. Lame marketing strategies.

I wouldn't be surprised if that is exactly why they did it.

Damn, what a glorified waste of time. Tiresome, predictable, nonsensical, looks, feels and sounds like if it was directed by a teenager with bad taste. I guess i gotta stop paying attention to RT's ratings. 5/10, and that's being nice.

Such a bittersweet movie. I really enjoyed the movie but i always get sad watching it due to the obvious reason. :(

They really did an impressive job to complete the movie, but if I have to be honest: the final product suffered a lot from Paul Walker's incomplete scenes.

I rewatched this and still like it. But what bothers me is Shaw's character. Multiple times he just shows up out of nowhere just to reek havoc, then disappears instead of finishing the job. Like he could have killed Hobbs at the bottom of the building but we never see him leave. Or killed Roman and Letty in the Dubai party but again we just cut to the next scene. This one definitely wasn't as tightly scripted as the last couple, not that they were flawless either.

i would like the read the original script before the rewrites and everything
