The audience reaction for the easter egg scene in my theater was pretty great. About four or five people simultaneously yelled "What the ****?"

why should they reintroduce a character that no one really cared for in the first place. At best have Han survive the explosion (lol so improbable but I wouldnt be mad) and maybe have Lucas Black come on as another member of Dom's crew

Its obvious that with Tokyo Drift they tried to make the series one with interchangeable characters under the "Fast and Furious" title. Didn't work to well. People want Diesel and Walker.

i think F&F 6 could work in introducing lucas black's character to the crew just to tie it all together. unfortunately it might mean han has to officially be out of the series...unless they pull "he survived" thing on us too. I don't know...i wouldn't be against lucas black joining the ranks but then again, his story was about overcoming some pretty tough stuff with his dad and joining the crew might do a disservice to his arc from Drift. I mean it is kind of weird. what makes it ok for dom to go around recruiting people that are on a good path to a life of crime? Maybe they shouldn't have lucas black join #6 after all and maybe just acknowledge han's death. Or have the next story take place in Tokyo to begin with to explain Vin showing up at the end of Tokyo Drift.

I could care less about about Lucas Black's character. And obviously the filmmakers favor Han over him, as they made it pretty clear at the end of Five that Han's in no rush to get to Tokyo.

I hate Tokyo Drift and consider it the Halloween 3 of the FF series, at this point they should probably start re-introducing Lucas Black's character from TD and have him continue the series.

This logic confuses me. :csad:

I would think the next installment will continue to take place before the events in Tokyo Drift therefore keeping Han. They will all end up in Europe for some reason or another to take on a new syndicate. Probably being the final film in the current series.

I have no problem with them making more of these as long as they stay true to what these movies are about and if they keep Justin Lin's sense of style and action..

Friday Box Office: 'Fast Five' Grosses $33.2 million in First Day Domestically

Universal's Fast Five is racing towards a $80 million weekend opening after grossing an estimated $33.2 million on Friday -- a stunning single day number, considering the top weekend opening of the year at the domestic box office is around $39 million.

If Universal insiders are correct about the numbers, Fast Five -- receiving a perfect A CinemaScore -- will mark the studio's biggest opening in history. The previous best was $72.1 million for Lost World: Jurassic Park.

Overseas, the franchise installment has earned $55.1 million in its first week. By Sunday, Universal says Fast Five will have grossed $80 million overseas for a worldwide debut of $160 million.

Directed by Justin Lin, Fast Five is a much-needed win for Universal, and has already grossed at least $50 million at the international box office, where it began rolling out last weekend. The movie reunites franchise stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster and Tyrese Gibson. Joining the series is Dwayne Johnson.

Yeah, they making Six Fast, You Surrious? These numbers are no cake walk.

Maybe if the 6th film is supposed to be the last one, they'll call it Final Fast.

Just got back from seeing it. WOW this movie was just awesome. Easily the best fast movie in the series. The last chase scene was epic and just wow the whole movie was full of great action scenes. And the end credits scene got huge gasps from the crowd. I was like Wooa!!! that is a huge cliffhanger.

Anyway, i give it a soild 8 out of 10. Highly recommend and a must buy when it hits blu ray. I might even see this again Sunday afternoon.

Instead of all the confusion why don't they take Tokyo Drift out of the main fast and furious canon. I really disliked that movie and would rather it be a stand alone alternate fast and furious movie. It was easily the weakest one in the series and had nothing to do with the main cast of the series ( other than a short cameo by Vin). And the only reason he did that cameo was to do Fast 4.

Hahaha go read Harrys Review on AICN lol he gets so many facts wrong lol its hilarious

I don't get the hate for TD. I really enjoyed that film. And it's really the last Furious film in it's old format. I love Lin's direction, the cinematography, the driving and stunts. The races/car action in TD trumped anything that was in 2Fast,which is still fun, I like it. But it's my least favorite. Han was such a great character. He really centered that film. I've grown to really appreciate TD over the years.

there will be a 6 & 7

As much as I loved Fast Five I think a 7th movie would really be pushing it. I think they should stop after fast six at least with the main cast. I don't want these movies to become stale like what happened to the saw movies. I think they should go out with a bang in fast six and be done. Maybe a few years down the line reboot the franchise.

i think they have a plan for these movies as VD has said the next movie takes place on the Autobahn

I think i'm starting to come around to the idea of what they may have in store for 6. If that scene is a potential jumping off point.

I literally rolled my eyes at the easter egg scene. But after thinking about it, I guess it could work.

I mean technically, we never really saw Letty's death. The scene from 'Fast & Furious' was simply Dom's interpretation of what happened.
