Favorite Tarantino Film - 2010 Edition

I rank his films like:

1. Pulp Fiction
2. Inglourious Basterds (very closely following)

3. Kill Bill Vol. 2
4. Resevoir Dogs
5. Kill Bill Vol. 1
6. Jackie Brown

7. Death Proof

....With that said, I enjoy IB the best so I voted for that.

no idea how this happened. I pressed it twice.

I chose Basterds it was a hard decision.I enjoyed them all.My Rankings would be:
1.)Inglorious Basterds
2.)Death Proof
3.)Jackie Brown
4.)Kill Bill
5.)Pulp Fiction
6.)Reservoir Dogs

Inglourious Basterds is such a masterpiece. It is truly the pennacle of what cinema is all about. At first I was afraid people would not get it, that fans and critics would say it is too different from history to be good but that is not the case. People understood it and loved it. It is pure storytelling at it's absolute finest. And gorgeous to behold. This film deserved best picture over any other movie of '09, and certainly more than the awful paced, plot-less, boring character driven Hurt Locker(all imo of course).

Pulp Fiction is also brilliant on nearly every level. It's a movie that really makes you re-think life itself, those films are rare. Sam Jackson, Travolta, and Bruce Willis- this movie contains all of their finest hours.

Kill Bill is fun, Death Proof was rather boring, Jackie Brown was good, and Reservoir Dogs was a good showcase of his talent on a low-budget indie film.

I enjoyed The Hurt Locker a lot, but I thought the exact same thing when it won Best Picture. Inglourious Basterds is in a different league. It was the best of 2009.

If i'm going to pop in a QT flick on friday night, its most likely to be Resevoir Dogs, I love it.

Inglourious Basterds has some awesome characters and cinematography though.

The two parts of kill bill are different enough for me that I count them as two movies though I almost always whatch them as one.

Here are my rankings:

1. Pulp Fiction
2. Inglourious Basterds
3. Kill Bill - I count them both as one film.
4. Reservoir Dogs
5. Jackie Brown
6. Death Proof

1. Pulp Fiction
2. Jackie Brown
3. Inglorious Basterds
4. Kill Bill- Still holding my breath for the Whole Bloody Affair. They released Grindhouse as one so there is still hope.
5. Reservoir Dogs
7. Death Proof

Inglourious Basterds.

1. Pulp Fiction
2. Reservoir Dogs
3. Inglourious Basterds
4. Kill Bill
5. Jackie Brown
6. Grindhouse/Death Proof

1. Inglourious Basterds
2. Pulp Fiction
3. Jackie Brown
4. Kill Bill
5. Reservoir Dogs
6. Death Proof

I was surprised when that happened.

The single most surprising moment is when De Niro turns around and shoots the chick in the parking lot. Holy ****.

I kinda saw the coming from the way she was yelling at him the whole scene.

The split screen scene is still classic though. You think Jackie is screwed but then you find out in the most awesome of ways that she's armed.

1. Pulp Fiction
2. Inglorious Basterds (very close second)
3. Reservoir Dogs
4. Kill Bill Vol. 1
5. Kill Bill Vol. 2
6. Jackie Brown
7. Death Proof

Just for fun, I included the ones he wrote but didn't direct.

1. Pulp Fiction (10/10)--not only is it a brilliant drama, comedy, crime story, thriller, and human interest work, but if there's only one film I credit with getting me interested in movies on a deeper level, this is it.

2. Inglourious Basterds(10/10)--features some of Tarantino's best characters, and its themes are truly unique and fascinating.

3/4. The Kill Bills (tie) (9/10)--Tarantino's exploration of movie morality was fully realized in Inglourious Basterds, but the Kill Bills got the ball rolling. And they're wonderful genre recreations. I might slightly prefer volume 1 because it was the first Tarantino film I ever saw.

5. Reservoir Dogs (9/10)--great debut, but I think the aforementioned movies are a bit more interesting to look at in depth.

6. Jackie Brown (8.5/10)--pending rewatch, I'd say it's really good but stylistically, the previous ones jump out at me a bit more. I do like how this one's more understated, though.

7. True Romance (8/10)--Scott's direction isn't as strong as Tarantino's, but the characters are dialogue are gold.

8. Death Proof (7.5-8/10)--another really well done throwback, but not as interesting or entertaining as his other ones.

9. From Dusk Till Dawn (7/10)--not much in the way of substance, but a fun b-movie schlock-fest.

10. Natural Born Killers (5/10)--didn't like it. The actors were good, but Stone's direction got annoying pretty fast.

I don't got a list but Dogs is definitely the most replayable and most fun to watch...probably cuz it's the shortest...

I voted for Kill Bill, but after thinking through it a bit more, I definitely appreciate Death Proof the most out of all his films.

I thought Death Proof was just way too self-indulgent...but I guess that was due to the whole "Grindhouse" spectacle...

It's either Pulp Fiction or Kill Bill for me ... And yes, I'm one of those people who says Kill Bill is one movie. :P

I haven't disliked any of Tarantino's endeavors, so it's difficult for me to say which movie of his is my least favorite. I think it might be either Inglourious Basterds or Death Proof, but like I said, I've enjoyed all of his movies tremendously.
