Also in that meeting, Erik Prince, mercenary king.

The way his name keeps popping up is interesting.

Erik Prince is like an NCIS: LA villain that has a season arc.

He literally has the name of a villain.

He literally has the name of a villain.

With a villainous name for his organization. Or, at least before the renaming for PR purposes.

Hell, he even tried to take over a country. His proposal for the privatization of the war in Afghanistan would have essentially turned it into his private little country.

EDIT: And Roger Stone believes he committed crimes and is going to be indicted by Mueller.

He looks like a Law & Order villain.

Erik Prince is also Betsy DeVos' brother.

I didn't know that. Speaking of witch hunts, is someone really looking for her? That apple fell from the tree and got stuck to the other one.

Giuliani was quoted by the New York Times later on Sunday as saying that Mueller had said the investigation would wrap up by Sept. 1.

A source familiar with the probe called the Sept. 1 deadline “entirely made-up” and “another apparent effort to pressure the special counsel to hasten the end of his work.”

“He’ll wrap it up when he thinks he’s turned over every rock, and when that is will depend on how cooperative witnesses, persons of interest and maybe even some targets are, if any of those emerge, and on what new evidence he finds, not on some arbitrary, first-of-the-month deadline one of the president’s attorneys cooks up,” said the source, a U.S. official who spoke on condition of anonymity.

These investigations can go on for five or six years, sometimes more. There is little chance Mueller will just wrap it up on some deadline made up by Guiliani or Trump.

Keeping the investigation going is in some ways the best thing for Trump in terms of re-election chances.

Without the ghost of Hillary and Bill to motivate the GOP rank and file. The idea of Mueller as the figure of intense hatred for their president might get them off their butts.

This doesn't help in terms of Congress though.

So animals is an official term? Damn this is ridiculous

This was cleared up the other day, he was pretty clearly referring to the gang members in a narrow sense. Even Sam Stein over at HuffPo thinks the outrage over it was out of line.

Yeah, sorry, brutal rapists of this nature and guys who take axes to other people's limbs are pretty much animals. Doesn't matter whether they're MS-13, Crips, Aryan Brotherhood, whatever.

Question: how is it racist to call violent gang members, animals? Geniuine question. Call them **** faces for all I care.

I find the use of the word odd for something official.

In that sense, totally. Don't know why it's in writing, seems kind of pointless.

The general expression of a little emotional condemnation for a group in the wake of one of their guys hacking up 15 year old girl with a machete, though? Ehh, you'll get over it, that's the type of language human beings use for other human beings doing such stuff.

It's...pointless in terms of the fight against them, but it's understandable. Of course the opposition is going to seize on the "he meant all Latinos!" bull****, it's good politics.

It is a continuation of his "strongman" idealogy. He voiced out loud to a graduating class of law enforcement officers that they "should rough them up". Which is horrifying. And as an official statement from our government, it is blatantly racist and goes against our constitution.

And given it is Trump and Miller, there is no question it is racist. Keep in mind, in Trumps senile brain, MS13= Mexican.

It is not pointless. When you dehumanize someone, you can justify a LOT more atrocities against them.

Their violent criminal actions already dehumanize them. That's why people call extremely violent murderers, rapists, etc monsters, evil, and animals.

That does not justify the rhetoric, which is extremely dangerous.
