So our terrorist dictator sided with another terrorist dictator over the death of an innocent American....wow.

Bet that family feels betrayed.

Republicans cry fake news from a liar. Makes me afraid that hearing meant nothing to a public that has already decided one way or another.
I would say that was always gonna be the case tbh. Even if Cohen produced a proverbial smoking hot gun there would have been Republicans still far more interested in 5 minutes of grandstanding for Trump's base than in the content or merits of any accusations.

But at least there were Dems like Cortez who didn't play to the gallery of either side and got on with getting the right kind of questions out there.

So while the hearing probably hasn't altered public perception much at all it did serve a purpose in getting the ball rolling. Cohen is the beginning of 2 years of Dem oversight, not the end.

Yeah, it just would have been nice to hear a Republican do the right thing and repent. :(

Oh, c'mon. The Democrats were the one counting on Cohen here, not the other way around. You all expected a big "I witness Russia collusion personally, here's A, B and C detailing it", nothing.

He said he's never been to Prague, which has been the closest "smoking gun" moment with all of this Russia stuff. Says he has nothing to back any of the collusion narrative, blah blah.

Look, Cohen's not even a reliable witness in the first place, so anything he says either way has to be taken with a grain of salt, including his "nothing to see here" on Russia. Take Mueller's report, not Cohen's laughable trying-to-save-his-ass.

Also, look up his interviews from dates after he said he's had his big revelation about the President being this corrupt damn dirty racist he didn't want a part of anymore. He literally went on TV after he said he turned on the guy, timeline wise, saying he "didn't want a job a the White House because I'm very happy being Trump's lawyer". The narrative doesn't add up, he didn't have a problem with the way the guy was doing business, post-Charlottesville and all this other **** he's citing.

"I don't support Trump in the least. He's a dummy yadda-yadda... But you know it's the Democrats that are REALLY acting so much more dumb and corrupt. Any action that hurts the President in any way is actually a sign of a weaker by the day Democratic Party. And hey ya'know Trump is a bad guy that lies... But you know who we really shouldn't believe? Anyone that says anything negative about Trump. Especially if the lied for Trump... Who is a liar. Did I mention that? See... I'm Centrist willing to give it to both sides. Now... Let me continue going on about how the real people who aren't be truthful and acting hypocritical is anyone who opposes Trump. This is totally not like the tens of thousands of criminal cases built off of the testimony of a witness that had turned informant at all. By tbe way we really shouldn't believe anyone that's going to testify against Trump. I mean... We know they lied for the President. How are they trustworthy in a making a case against him? He asked them to lie and they did. This obviously somehow absolves Trump from his lies, obstruction and conspiracy. Because now that Cohen has turned witness his past lying for Trump cancels out Trump's lies. Either way I shall never miss a chance to spin a supposed Centrist opinion into a backhanded attack on the President's critics because it's obvious that I think that the real issue at hand is that there are people who think Trump should be held accountable."

Some should just save that and COPY/PASTE at their leisure.

Collusion with Russia, if it can be proven, is gonna be down to Mueller's report (they initially were not gonna ask Cohen anything about Russia), but that is not the only thing Trump might be exposed on.

What the Cohen hearing did imo, for those asking the right questions there, was set up a continued 'follow the money' investigation. Al Capone got taken down from his aversion to taxes after all, not any of the seriously awful stuff he did.Tax evasion/fraud is one the crimes Cohen himself is going to jail for. Same with Manafort.

That I think should be the focus of the Dems oversight on Trump: Follow the money and let Mueller handle the Russia angle.

Morning tweets:

NK:

and the rest are about Cohen (was wondering how long it would be before he would go off on that):

I can see why no competent lawyer would want him as a client. He doesn't know when to shut up.

The concept that Cohen might have been lying big time in his 'love letter' manuscript seems to escape him.

Btw, I don't believe for a minute Cohen changed his mind on anything until he got arrested and knew he was in the crap. He'd do his crimes all over again if he could get away with it. This ain't a good man falling under a bad influence, then seeing the proverbial light. This is a low life in the service of low life's.

But that doesn't mean his testimony is complete bs either.

The key though is pursuing the leads he has offered. Turn over more stones, see what scurries out.

Exactly. NO ONE is saying he's a saint or trustworthy. Going after the President on his testimony alone is nowhere near enough. That's why everyone is saying AOC did a good job in her line of questioning. She actually asked who else they could question in order to corroborate his claims. That's what you're supposed to do.

If Cohen can corroborate his claims (which he seems to have done with some, like the two checks signed by Trump) and point to other witnesses to call, as he has done with Weisselberg and Don Jr., then it doesn't matter how good Cohen's word is, because we don't have to take him just at his word alone.

I'm sure Cheetoh won't call then names or anything at all.

I doubt even he would be dumb enough to poke that hornets nest, think he's just going to take his L here and try and quickly move on.

So, Hannity apparently may have opened himself up for congressional inquiry in his interview with the president last night. Talking about how Cohen told him many times that he made the decision to make the payments to Daniels himself and didn't tell Trump. I really, really hope Hannity is also under investigation, and not just the other guy Cohen was doing hush payments for.

No, he is dumb enough. And his base is idiotic enough to follow him.

"I asked Un if he had anything to do with it, and he said no. So with all due respect to the family, they don't know what they are talking about"

That would make me happy as well. :)

The Warmbier situation is so sad. This young man was balling his eyes out... begging to be rescued. To say that NK isn't responsible for his death after wrongfully imprisoning him and torturing him is beyond the pale, truly.

I keep thinking about what I'd do if my son was brutally tortured and killed right before I saw him again.. and then for the president to excuse his murderers.... it's just hugely sad and infuriating.

But Kim says he knew nothing about it. And prisons have a lot of bad people and a lot of bad things happen there. A lot of bad things. That Kim knows nothing about.
