He still has all the powers of the presidency. Officially. Unofficially, he is under a soft 25th amendment. Doesn't matter, because all the reporting is that if he can't pardon himself, no one gets a pardon. Good ol' President 2 Scoops

Some of these crazies think Pence is a clone. That Biden is a clone or body double. They will never betray their faith in Q. Everything is still going "according to plan".

I thought it's that Trump was advised not to pardon himself because it could incriminate him further, not that he doesn't have the power to do it. He might still throw their advice out the window and act impulsively anyway.

That's the girl who said her Mom told her she shouldn't go to BLM protests because they could get violent.

Its two points, really. The big one is that it opens him up to civil liability, as a pardon is generally treated as an admission of guilt. The other point, is a that a self pardon essentially challenges Biden's DOJ to get a ruling on whether a president can pardon themselves or not.

But he already was impeached before from last time round. It's not like he was a neutral president with no charges against him. And he has issued several pardons since November anyway, so doesn't that answer the question?
If I remember what my wife read to me....once a president is impeached, he can not issue a pardon on the case that led to his impeachment.

That's what I read too.....I tried to say that in an earlier post, but, as usual, it was muddled....

I told many people years ago (way back in the 1990s) that Trump is an ignoramus of the highest order and that he's functionally illiterate. I don't think that he's illiterate in the strictest sense, as in the inability to read & write simple sentences.

Rex Tillerson: ‘We’re in a Worse Place Today Than We Were Before He Came In’

‘We’re in a Worse Place Today Than We Were Before He Came In’

His understanding of global events, his understanding of global history, his understanding of U.S. history was really limited. It’s really hard to have a conversation with someone who doesn’t even understand the concept for why we’re talking about this.

So I began to adjust what I went into a meeting with and what I attempted to explain and describe, and then I started taking charts and pictures with me because I found that those seemed to hold his attention better. If I could put a photo or a picture in front of him or a map or a piece of paper that had two big bullet points on it, he would focus on that, and I could build on that. Just sitting and trying to have a conversation as you and I are having just doesn’t work.

I think the other challenge that I came to realize early on is there were so many people who had access to his ear who were telling him things, most of which were untrue, and then he began to listen to those voices and form a view that had no basis in fact. So then you spent an inordinate amount of time working through why that’s not true, working through why that’s not factual, working through why that’s not the basis on which you want to understand this, you need to set that aside, let’s talk about what’s real. I think that was as big a challenge as anything. There were other people giving him information that was not accurate, every day, usually before I got to see him. First thing in the morning and not from people inside the White House. It was really frustrating.

It’s like having a political discussion with a 2nd grader, and his rebuttal talking points are “Batman would beat Iran” and “Why can’t I do that, I’m stronger than them” ; ugh.

I had to check what year 2nd grader is supposed to be, turn out that's when I was 6 years old. lol

At that age, I usually finished all my class works before others and spent my time looking in the other classroom doing hand mime with my neighbour, otherwise my teacher just assigned me other fun tasks to complete to relieve me of boredom.

I strongly suspect that the reason everyone uses the resolute desk is that no one wants to actually move it.

Great to have a dumbass as the leader of the free world.

Not for long.....

But it seems like an eternity.
There should be some basic tests before you can put yourself up for president. Basic comprehension, knowledge of US history, global affairs, the constitution etc. Also some relevant experience for eg as a senator or governnor.

Good luck getting the constitution amended....
