To be fair, the tactics of demagoguery are timeless going back to at least Ancient Rome. The skill of a demagogue is in their ability oto adapt them to the tools and spirit of their times. In that regard, Trump has been incredibly savvy and intuitive. He is and has been a dangerous adversary... We underestimate him at our peril.

The skill of a demagogue is in their ability of the demagogue to adapt them to the tools and spirit of their times. In that regard, Trump has been incredibly savvy. He's all instinct and id, which ultimately works out in his favor. He's so buffoonish and over the top that most people just roll their eyes and don't take him and what he says seriously, which is exactly the problem.

Gym enjoys a safe, gerrymandered red seat in Ohio. So unless Ohio gets smart and gets an independent redistricting committee, he's gonna be there as long as he wants.

I hope the GOP loses seats in the 2022 midterms because of their foolishness and power grabs. And watching voters throwing Gym out would be gratifying.
